I definitely err on the side of being a pushover. It's my achilles heel. (Parenting-wise, anyway) The last time I spanked Jeffrey (about a year ago), it was because I said, "If you ________ again, I'm going to spank you", and he (rather defiantly) did _______ again. So I had to keep my word. *sigh*

My solution for that problem: Don't threaten with a spanking, and I won't have to spank. :D

THAT is terrible parenting. LOL!!!! I try to stick to threats I don't mind carrying out. Just unpleasant enough to get the desired effect, but not unpleasant enough to put BOTH of us in tears. :tissue

My vote is: Medical Marijuana is right. Recreational marijuana is unproductive, but possibly less harmful than alcohol. Perhaps we should make alcohol illegal and replace it with weed. :D

Then we would have drivers driving down the interstate at 5 mph, or stopping to play their guitars on the bridge. Perhaps they will decorate their hair with fall leaves and dance across the median. At this hour, this is the best plan I can come up with.

Obviously the later it gets, the more I lose all sense of morality, righteousness and clarity.

Maybe we should just apply the Word like medicine and get healed. It is sad to have more faith in chemicals than it the living God. Apply the Word with the same hope and faith as drugs and get a much better result with no side effects.

God gave us all these wonderful items in nature for a reason. Wine, even though it is a natural item that has changed through fementation, is good for you. So why not cannabis? If these items from nature are used for the right purpose and in moderation they could be helpful. Better than all the chemicals we shove in our bodies currently. Ever wonder why all these nasty bugs and diseases are out there? could it be that we have been shoving synthetic garbage in our system for so long that now all these things have mutated into all the superbugs of today? Maybe if we had been looking at natural alternatives we would not have so much of these things going around.

There is a tendency to over-medicate, I believe. So in the cases where the best course of action is no action, I agree: let God take care of it (whether it's by His actively guiding the natural process, or by letting His design do its work). But sometimes, obeying James 5:14 leads to death.

Actually thats true , I saw that episode...

If I remember correctly it was busted. Alcohol had no effect on how they judged the appearance of the opposite sex.

Which to me is not the real question. The real question should have been,

Does a persons moral integrity deminish with alcohol ?

But in California, since cannabis is legal ("medical purposes") there is often little distinction between recreational use and legitimate medical use. Everyone here knows it's not hard to find a doctor who will prescribe it fairly easily. I used to hear radio commericials from doctors advertising their willingness to prescribe cannabis, ie, "Are you in pain, yet pharmaceuticals have let you down? Give Dr. MJ Hempy a call today, 916-451-OOOH."

Reportedly jails are overburdened with illegal possessors, so maybe legalize it just to free up jail space for worse criminals, and to give police a better use of their time.

Yeah...for me though....I don't know how many hits on a bong it takes to make a sick person feel better but I know from experience it does not take many to get high
