Have You Ever Missed It?
 

I have heard many people over time say and deride men of God that they "Missed It" with Borat being the most recent example.

Do you always hit it out of the ballpark every service? Do you nail it on the head
every time on a "Consistent basis?"

I wasn't there when Borat was shot in one of our camp meetings but there is only two things that could be the reason.

One, God hid it from them.
Two, they missed it.

I have heard some good men of God "miss it at least once."

Sadly, the one tme it is missed is the one that is remembered rather than the
ninety & nine that were bang on.

I know of an instance involving major UPC ministries where a prophecy was made concerning healing and when it did not happen and the man died it was said that the man did not "miss it" with his prophecy but simpy that God had "changed his mind"!!!!!

The Bible says that we have this treasure in "Earthen Vessels" and with humanity involved.

We have had Bro Godwin come many times to our Church and I have yet to see him miss it while he was here.

I think virtually all whoe deal with a prophetic word have missed it at one time or another because they are imperfect human vessels that divinity is operating through.

It is only human that at some point int time ones humanity would interfere.

Or #3, that we desire results so much that "discernment" isn't even part of the equation. I could almost understand it if there wasn't a camera present. But when someone comes in with a video camera, I'm sorry, but I'm going to be very skeptical. I may have been born at night.............but it wasn't last night!!!

And, yes.....I have missed it before; more than once.

As for the Borat thing....if there was people who watched TV and knew of a certain character....a UPC Campmeeting would not be in the movie.

During the time this Campmeeting took place...there was a very popular show on at the moment on HBO called the "Ali G Show" where the actor portraying Borat..also regularly did 2 other characters.

There was much more to this that was "missed."

I know of who you speak. I know the man's son (who's a UPC pastor now), and he is thankfully not bitter, but understands the healing may have been something other than his body.

Yeah. I have heard what all the preachers say about prophets who miss it just one time.

They don't take in account all their misses though.

There's a different standard for them in the NT than the OT. Different punishments as well. Paul said if one prophesies let two or three others (I believe) judge. In the OT you got rocked to sleep if you missed it.
