WPF Musician to Play for Trinitarian

Below is a post from the blog of a prominent WPF church's music director. Their band is playing for Martha Munizzi at one of her concerts. This woman has been known to mock Apostolic people and their holiness standards. She is a trinitarian that gives an altar call at the end of her concerts, asking who would like to accept Christ into their hearts . Now these holier-than-thou WPFers are going to play for her and be a crucial part of the altar call. Unbelievable!

"I recently received a really tight invite! The Grammy Award-winning artist Martha Munizzi will be in Sacramento on Monday, January 19th for the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, and TRC will be playing for her! For those of you who are not familiar, you will know the songs that she has penned: Because of Who You Are, Shout, God is Here, Say the Name, Glorious, White Christmas and many more!"

Looks like the post about Martha Munnizi has been removed.

The fact that they are playing for her is also mentioned on the music director's twitter: http://twitter.com/bwvandiver and http://twitter.com/bwvandiver/status/1025753933

"little" better... like I said. The awful doctrine allegations are removed.

As far as facts:
"Their band is playing for Martha Munizzi at one of her concerts. "

It never stated it was a MM concert. Though that may be true, the only thing I read was something about an MLK "celebration".

Blog post looks like it was taken down - but replaced by another post! lol

well, I hope that don't watch the concert, to see how they did, on TV :)

Okay, this post was "much better".

Throwing multiple allegations into one bomb and hoping they all stick is awful. I would have tucked tail and just took down the whole post.

More positive news is MM's latest album is wonderful. Houghton, Sanchez, Stampley and a long guest list of co-producers.

Normally I don't care for sanitation, especially when it includes my posts being deleted :D, but in this case: THANKS, Admin. :)

Now for the matter at hand...I really don't see a major conflict or inconsistency with the WPF's approach, but maybe between churches in the org., and how they would deal with such opportunities--in which case, such differences are bound to exist anywhere.

If they watch their performance on TV (assuming it arrives there--do we know that?), that would be inconsistent, but I'm not going to condemn individuals based on stances taken by their collective leadership. That's unfair.

It seems odd that they left the UPC FELLOWSHIP but are able to FELLOWSHIP with Trinitarians. :2cents

Wrong? Nothing...however this seems to be the same sort of "compromising" that led to their leaving the UPCI and forming their own group.

Well, this is interesting.

All I am going to say about this is.....For people who criticized and objected to other UPC churches singing and sharing a stage with other known "gospel artists," it is somewhat puzzling to think that when THEY were invited the tone changes.

You decide on if it is hypocritical or not.

Considering it is some of her (and others) music and lights that prompted seperate campmeetings and youth functions.

I have no problem with their stand, whether I agree with it or not. Just be consistent.

When/where has she been known to mock Apostolics?
Do you have any references you can provide us on this?

Perhaps the author of this thread has more information, but I can only infer where this is coming from.

Point of history....Martha Munizzi is out of Clint Brown's church. She was featured predominently on his recordings, up to about 3-4 years ago when she left his church and went solo. Clint Brown is ex-UPC and still has relatives in the UPC and Oneness organizations.

Hmmmmmmmmm ....Out of his church ... or attended/ministered in his church for awhile????...

She is the daughter of pastor/singer/evangelist John Stallings ... who pastored in Orlando, FL and is a Dove award winner (1977) in his own right ...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martha_Munizzi

Her dad's blog: http://johnstallings.blogspot.com/

Does not surprise me. Unfortunately, I've heard and confirmed enough that what someone may say about him is probably the truth. Sad story.

That's right,no beards are allowed but performing with a trinitarian who prances around the stage wearing skin tight blue jeans and prays the sinners prayer at the end of her concert appears to be acceptable.

Are you quite sure about that? I didn't see it mentioned in their articles of faith, which would mean it would be up to individual churches/pastors whether or not their male constituents have facial hair of the unshaven sort.

Do you object to their participation with MM on a personal level? Or do you just feel that they should object, e.g., you object to their lack of objection?
