AFF Badge of Honor

I read on another forum that to be talked about on AFF was a "badge of honor."

The post was in reference to the WPF being discussed on AFF. Terrible that there is such division among us.

I assume that you mean by being "talked about on AFF" being "a badge of honor", the poster meant being spoken of in a bad light or ridiculed on AFF?

Yes, it appeared to be the case.

Then I find humor in that statement, the primary ones bashed here appear to be homosexuals, and those without morals. As far as standards pretty much anything goes here apparently.

So just how far out are these guys who were bashed?

Oh, Brother, I don't believe that was the case.

The comment was made about the WPF being discussed on AFF.

I dunno about that.

We are an "equal bashing" group.
Liberals bash Conservatives
and
Conservatives bash Liberals.

and we all consider ourselves to be Moderates
so anyone who doesn't see things the way we personally do is out of adjustment.

Bro Sam,

Did not say there is not plenty of manure spread in every direction around here oft times.

But I believe you'll admit the biggest dog piles come on threads like-Did you see what Jakes wore to the wedding and who he has been hanging around?

That is where the inconsistency comes to play.

I do understand the politics.

Perhaps the simple truth is there are many at either end of the spectrum who must put down others in order to feel good about themselves.

I preach Acts 2:38 and holiness, and believe them to be the only way to God.

But part of the fruit of the spirit is show love not mockery.

Those who have strayed from the path of holiness are to be prayed for not mocked.

And those who say thank God I am not longer a legalist often turn around and mock those doing their best to live for God AND those who don't meet THEIR standards.

Yes it is ironic.

Many of us do not enjoy bashing anyone....however bashers exist in every camp.

I think that most perceived badges of honor is the typical ultra-conservative mindset for being persecuted for Christ. You know - the self-righteous stuff that the Pharisees and Sadducees were good at in the New Testament.

Did I say, "I HATE legalism?". Let them gloat over their badges with pride.

Blessings,
Rhoni

I was being good over there and I am very conservative in Biblical doctrinal issues. I just take issue with extra-biblical/man-made rules and regulations. However, I will say and it is known of me that I do conform to those extra-biblical things when in Rome [which is JP in this case] :christmoose

El Predicador, I appreciate your post. Very accurate. Both are trying to correct the other with a huge beam in their eye. Calling the other a hater of men, while they have dead bodies piled around them. Life and death is in the tongue.

It is difficult to be non-judgemental when making a judgemental statement isn't it?:gotcha

Well when Rome "[which is JP in this case]" the Romans may take issue with your opinion over "what is extra-Biblical/man-made rules and regulations" and what is proper conduct for one who wishes to be modest, holy, and separated unto the Lord.

And since you DO conform to those teachings when it is convenient I take it none of them are unacceptable or unholy to you?

Having a judgement about the matter isn't what's in question. It's the means of which one makes a judgement. Is it gossip? Is it mean-spirited? Is it untruths? Is it edifying? Is it honest? Is it conducive toward godliness?

"Let the spiritual judge..." God has no problem with us making judgements. In fact, woe to the person that doesn't know how to make judgements.

Absolutely not. I have no issue with individuals who make the choice to live by what they consider a more than modest dress standard for themselves. Everyone has to work out their own salvation and live according to their personal convictions. I have a personal conviction about certain things that I adhere to not expecting others to do or not do as I choose.

The reason I can do as they do in Rome at times is because I have always stood by the philosophy that when one works for employer there is rules one must adhere to and some of them are dress related, the same thing goes for churches. There are so many different sets of rules/standards. One must do as the church teaches where they go whether one believes it to be salvational or not.

Hummm....so then the judgement you judged with is more "spiritual" than that which I judge by?:hook

My judgement was a general opinion. I don't have a spirituality gauge. Let every man be judged by his works and actions.

With this logic, one would believe in pluralism and deny absolutes. Someone has to judge. This is scriptural. It's not a contest. I don't even know you, Rhoni. I'm sure you are a sweet woman.
