Illinois Governor Arrested
 

Evidently the IL governor was arrested by the FBI this morning, on corruption charges. Not much has been said yet on the news about it.

Chicago Tribune: Ill. Gov. Blagojevich in federal custody

25 mins ago Reuters – … CHICAGO (Reuters) – Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been taken into federal custody at his home, the Chicago Tribune reported on Tuesday citing unnamed sources.

The newspaper said on its website that the U.S. attorney's office in Chicago would not confirm the information.

Blagojevich was the subject of a federal corruption probe.

read an article about it at google news, apparently blagoevich was trying to get money or a job for his wife in return for the senate seat vacated by Obama. he talked about it to his chief of staff on the phone that was being wiretapped by federal authorities.

The third IL Gov to be arrested in the past 35 years.

He will most likely do jail time as did the other 3.

Ryan is still in jail.

That is the atmosphere that our next president will come from...

CHICAGO - Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich embarked on "political corruption crime spree" and tried to benefit from his ability to appoint President-elect Barack Obama's replacement in the U.S. Senate, federal officials said Tuesday.

At a news conference in Chicago on Tuesday, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald called it a sad day for the citizens of Illinois and alleged that the governor tried to "auction off" the Senate seat "to the highest bidder".

Too funny that this freak thought he could get the Senate Seat himself to bolster his dream of being one of the 2016 Presidential candidates!!

As a life long Illinois resident, I was not the least bit shocked by the actions of the arogant little twit. the Chicago machine pretty much assures that our state goes democrat in it's elections.

Maybe they can let him share a cell with our last govenor, who is doing 6 years for his shenangans while in office.

This Blagoveich dude has done much harm to our state. I hope he get's some hard time in one our states fine penal instututions.
