Funny commercial...

But I don't care for the concept it uses.

I don't like commercials that men out to be whiny little tools that are bossed around like bad kids with bad parents.

I think the point is being made (albeit exaggerated one) that men are not thinking & insensitive that will apply to almost all men at some time in our lives!:christmoose

The interesting thing, too, is that men do work around the house... the tools of that work are mowers, saws, hammers etc.

A man would be glad to get a tool to help him do what he does around the house.

Not so with some of the lady types.

I am glad to say that my wife would be happy to get a vacuum cleaner. She is a very practical woman and has specifically asked that I not get her things such as roses etc because they just die anyway.

I am truly a blessed man.

It didn't play very well but I got the drift.

I tend to be boringly practical but I still enjoy a gift that's girly! Perfume or even flowers....just not for every occasion. A few years ago my wonderful husband was playing it safe...and I got roses for Mothers Day, our Anniv and my birthday. I called a moratorium on flowers:christmoose

Since my husband does the vacuuming at our house I asked him if he wanted a roomba for Christmas this year; the answer was no.

I'm a firm believer in unsubtle hints:santaclaus

Re: Stay Out Of The Doghouse!

I think that men think "practically" about gifts... if a woman sees an infomercial, and a wife comments on an abdomen exerciser he will think, "that's what she wants", without thinking about the implications...
women don't think, "what does he want?", she thinks, "what does he REALLY want?"....
My husband has always been good about gifts, I am one of the lucky ones~
