After Christmas Sales!
I decided to venture out and partake of the goodness of the After Christmas Sales today.
Most stores have gone directly to 70% off which has got people out shopping at least! They might not make as much profit, but people are loving the discounts. I got what I needed for next year - wrapping paper, ribbon, cards, and gifts for my employees. I like to take advantage of the sales and just store away until next year. I bought a couple tops that were 50% off with some Christmas money, but glad to be back home where it's quiet! |
Re: After Christmas Sales!
I ventured out to Costco to get some things we needed as well as the local grocery store.
It is snowing to beat the band & it is crazy driving out there. What I haven't been able to find is anymore salt! Everyone is sold out & have been since Christmas Eve! We ain't going anywhere today, mom has cookies baked & we will be playing some games, doing some cleaning but no more buying!:christmoose Glad you got some deals. I know my old boss used to do his Christmas Shopping at a local Canadian Tire on Boxing Day for next year. All toys were discounted 50-70%!:santathumb |
Re: After Christmas Sales!
Well, all my employees are ladies, so it's easy to purchase something in advance that is for Christmas and they will enjoy.
I usually get something at Pier1 - - get something nice for less! I wish it would snow here, but now we have 70 degree weather and thunderstorms predicted for tomorrow. I had to turn on my air conditioner in the car while I was out shopping! |

Re: After Christmas Sales!
I didn't even get out of the house... and I don't plan to! There are some things I'd have liked to have purchased while they are on clearance, but with the economy the way it is looking-- I decided to just save my money instead.

Re: After Christmas Sales!
I did not go out today- but I do plan on going out in a couple of days to check out the sales. I like to wait until everyone goes back to work and then hit the mall. I love shopping the sales, but I will not be buying much- I got a gift card that I will use.

Re: After Christmas Sales!
I got a microwave at Best Buy.com for $39 today and picked it up at the store. Then I bought Keith an inexpensive camcorder for his birthday tomorrow for $69. I thought that was pretty good.
Justin needed the microwave for his dorm at college. Actually, I think I'm going to keep the new one and send my old one down to school with him. The crowds were ridiculous! The line at Best Buy was half way back the store! Then we went to see Marley and Me. I was expecting a few people. But the theater was almost completely full. We stopped on the way home at a restaurant here in our town where I have never had to wait before. And guess what! There was a wait!! Geesh!! Remind me next year. I'm NOT going out the day after Thanksgiving OR the day after Christmas ever again! |
Re: After Christmas Sales!
Other than Christmas wrapping paper and cards, I have not found any of these big "deals" that the media has been harping on. IN fact we were in a few stores today and nothing seemed to be on sale.
I even went online to check for PC specials, and there was almost nothing. |

There was a shoe sale sign at Shoe Carnival and I went in to take a look. I found the pair I needed marked down to $14.00 and it was buy one pair - get one free. I got two pairs for $14.00. :christmasjig Blessings, Rhoni |
Re: After Christmas Sales!
I really have been needing a new coat, but haven't been wanting to spend a lot of money on one that won't get very much use. First off, I live in Georgia, and secondly I have been steadily dropping weight since they figured out what was wrong with me (phyiscally...the juries still out on the mental part :D )
Anyway, I went out because my Mom wanted to look for things, and I happened to find a very nice, brown fake leather coat at Goody's for $15. So that was my Christmas Present to myself! |

Re: After Christmas Sales!
I found a "loaded", berries, pinecones, etc, 3 foot Christmas garland for $7. Perfect for my dining table next year! :santathumb
Also a spool of gold and red velvet ribbon for next year! $2.50 for 20 yards. I know these are not a necessity - that's why I get them on sale. LOL! Can't wait to go into my favorite gift shop this weekend and see what they have left over. I found gorgeous stuff last year for a song and a dance to use this past year - feathers covered in gold glitter, red beaded tassels, etc. :santathumb |

I was going to order these, but it's too much red. Maybe LadyCoonskinner will want them. http://www.wisteria.com/images/w2672.jpg They were $19 for the set of three. Now they are $4.95. Good deal for glass! |
Re: After Christmas Sales!
Oh, and Jeanie - This one is now $237 instead of $435 - EACH! :toofunny
