Re: Your NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Last year it was to lose weight. I have lost roughly 60 lbs. Biggest thing is I went from pushing a size 42 waist around to now a 34 waist. My resolution is to not lose what I have but to maintain a fairly healthy lifestyle. Plus I want to be a better father and husband. I work a lot in order to make ends meet and I want to make sure that my family doesn't go with out anything it needs. I resolve to be a better person in '09 than in '08.

Because I know I'm not going to change anything. I already know what I need to do. Why make a Resolution?

You want to combine this with that one? Why? That one is about Rhoni. This one is about whoever posts.

That's what I realized and why I said, actually that was Rhoni's.

Isn't that where Michael made his resolution though (just for reference purposes and all)?

Last year I made a few resolutions that I actually kept.
Going to bed earlier, taking on a easy workout regimen,
eating less startch and sugar.

This year I plan to step up both my exercise workout and my
prayer life, simplify my department w/less events, focus on the big
ones that are successful. I hope to get lasik surgery this year too.

Why don't you merge mike's or even Rhoni's in with this one?

Might have to do that in my spare time.

Actually, I can't do that since both their posts are before your - -it would throw their post as the first post in this thread.

Maybe they can just copy their resolutions and make them here.

Beside losing more weight, I plan to beat our household goal of money invested for retirement. Mrs. Steinway wants to retire in ten years!

You don't want to retire?? You're probably the type that would be miserable sitting around doing nothing

Re: Your NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

I used to do all my resolutions (quit smoking, dedicate more time to God, get in shape )and after failing miserably , I found out you can't do them all at once. So I am taking them one year at a time. The year before last I dedicated more time to God, which led to me putting down ciggerettes in November of that year which led to last years resolution ; STAY off of ciggarettes. Done that , now this year its gonna be get in shape. I am pathetically out of shape.

Re: Your NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

I used to work at a suit store, but no more. I was around 260. Reason I say around is that I didn't weigh until the 2nd week I was working out and I figured I had dropped 2 lbs by then cause first time I weighed I was 258. Now I weight about 210...meant to say lost 50 lbs earlier instead of 60....but I have gained quite abit of muscle and going from 42 waist to 34 is a big change. I was a 46 suit coat, but now wear a 44 so I have lost a little up top weight but only dropping 1 coat size and losing 50 lbs is good cause it means I have gained muscle.

Of course I want to retire - - I was planning on retire by the time I was 60 while I was married - - NOW that has changed. I have to support myself, so since my 401(k) is in the tank right now I don't see me being able to retire for a long, long time.

Just because you retire doesn't mean you sit around doing nothing! You do things you WANT to do!

Re: Your NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

So far...(Well, I'm already working on them--not waiting till Jan!), mine are:

*Get adequate rest. (8 hours a night would be GREAT)
*Take my vitamins
*Drink more water
*Organize my kitchen
*Organize my schedule, eliminate excessive commitments
*Lose 30 lbs. next year. (I want to be a size 10 again!!!!)
*Have my first checkup since 2002. (That's TERRIBLE!!!) :oops

I've taken a break from the music department (at least the director's side of it) for the year (2009) (That was a HARD decision!) or until I'm ready to pick it back up, removed myself from the church Building (Program) Committee, and Jeff and I are working on a family schedule that we'll hopefully have in place by next week that will make all of our lives easier.

Right now I go to bed with too many things undone--because my day runs out before my To Do List does, so I'm trying to pare everything down to the bare minimum.

I guess my overall goals are:

*Focus on my health.
*Organize my schedule.

Re: Your NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

I do know this about myself--if I make a resolution, I have to start making a plan of attack for today! If I put it off till the 1st, or to a Monday morning, or whenever--I'll never do it.
