[YT=" "Amazing Grace" Movie --- Interview With Lead Actor Ione Gruffudd"]rSbOkQHI-30[/YT]

It worked! I figured it out! Woohoo! :bliss

This is a great movie by the way! I was very impressed with it - the acting, the casting, the wardrobe. editing ....... I thought it was all very well done!

I had never heard this story before and have never read about it so I don't know how accurate the story telling was. I'm just taking for granted that it's quite accurate.

The actress who was picked to play the woman William Wilberforce fell in love with and married was a perfect match I thought. :)

.................................................. ..

Amazing Grace is based on the life of antislavery pioneer William Wilberforce.

The film stars Ioan Gruffudd, Albert Finney, Romola Garai, Michael Gambon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rufus Sewell , Ciaran Hinds and introduces Youssou N'Dour.

Gruffudd plays Wilberforce, who, as a Member of Parliament, navigated the world of 18th Century backroom politics to end the slave trade in the British Empire. Albert Finney plays John Newton, a confidante of Wilberforce who inspires him to pursue a life of service to humanity. Benedict Cumberbatch is William Pitt the Younger, England's youngest ever Prime Minister at the age of 24, who encourages his friend Wilberforce to take up the fight to outlaw slavery and supports him in his struggles in Parliament.

Elected to the House of Commons at the age of 21, and on his way to a successful political career, Wilberforce, over the course of two decades, took on the English establishment and persuaded those in power to end the inhumane trade of slavery.

Romola Garai plays Barbara Spooner, a beautiful and headstrong young woman who shares Wilberforce's passion for reform, and who becomes his wife after a whirlwind courtship. Youssou N'Dour is Olaudah Equiano. Born in Africa and sent as a slave to the Colonies, Equiano bought his freedom and made his home in London, where he wrote a best-selling account of his life and became a leading figure in the fight to end the slavery of his fellow countrymen.

I never watched it. I was too busy figuring the whole deal out. Only took a couple tries.

I don't usually need to tie knots and I tie them fast enough to suit me! :D

(I will watch it though)

Felicity 04-05-2007 12:02 AM

Okay - I watched it. I'll have to practice later. :toofunny

I find it very annoying to view a video with a curse word where the smiley is in this post. This prevents the accidental view.

Thanks Grasshopper

I may have to watch Amazing Grace. Until this film I only knew Ione Gruffudd as Reed Richards from the Fantastic Four....

(Also, The Maha Rushi gave it is thumbs up as well.... as you know how us mind-numbed robots act....)

**EDITED to add updated instructions** With a newer version of vBulletin the Youtube button no longer exists. You simply have to post the link and it will automatically display the video.

Someone asked that I post this less technical set of instructions here in this thread, so I am doing this for anyone that had a problem with Boom's more technical instructions. :D

To Post YouTube Video on AFF:

First, hit the post reply button to open a posting window.

Then click on the YouTube button. A small window will come up. You type in the text that you want to show just above the video (such as the song title).

Then hit OK. It will post some code in your window, and your cursor will be flashing in a certain spot. You will copy and paste ONLY what is behind the equal sign that is shown in the YouTube URL into that spot.

Then hit Preview post. It should take a minute or so to load, but it will show you if you have correctly done it, because you will see the video with a play arrow in the center of it.

If you see the video-- you can hit submit post. If not, something isn't right.

It became obsolete with the addition of a mod we're using.

You just have to post the link, it will automatically post the video.
