I'll only watch it because I know my patients will be watching it. If I was home, I would be doing other things.

I'll be leading a La Leche League meeting during that time, but otherwise, I would probably watch it.

Each to their own choice, but I plan to watch every minute if I can...

Though I did NOT vote for Mr. Obama, I cannot escape the fact that he is the new president, and this is a historical moment in time.

So my prayers are with him, that God will protect and guide him.

I have to work at the young at heart luncheon from 11:30am-1pm. Then I have to come home and hopefully get some sleep to work the 11-7 shift on my job. I won't be thinking about watching anything on TV. Oh wait, maybe I should. Political programs usually put me to sleep.....

Re: RSVP: For those watching the Inauguration

*yawn...

Though historic, it's also a little embarassing to be saying "first African-American..." in the year 2009. Should have made it over that hurdle long ago.

And, he's a dimmycrat. Obama may be okay - but watch out for the baggage he's carrying.

Already had one nominee resign over an investigation into wrong doing, Senator Obama's Senate seat was notoriously up for sale, the Treasury pick's in hot water over his own "tax problem," the husband of the Secretary of State has collected almost 100 million dollars from various foreign governments, the CIA Director's post is another former Clinton staffer with no experience in the Intelligence community whatsoever - even Dem. Senator Diane Feinstein is leery of that one.

All this and the inauguration doesn't even happen until Tuesday.

It's 1993 all over again.

I won't be watching it.

I have a fence to put up for my goats.

If the legislation already popping up is any indicator gun ownership is in for a long hard road.

Obamunism is upon us.

I will be forced to watch the Obamagasm since I am in charge of setting up the computers to stream it at the school.

I will not watch. I will not lift up my eyes on this. Neither will I let the sounds of it enter into my ears. My eyes are only on the consequences that will follow. We are not yet ready.

I am hearing from people that are being warned by both dreams and visions in the Spirit. In fact, I just got a call this morning.

We are not prepared for the things that "like a snare shall it come upon the whole world."

I agree that things may get bad, but I am also not looking forward to a bunch of cockroaches taking credit for their visions and dreams proclaiming that they KNEW what was coming.

Cockroaches?

My! My!

You do have a way with words.

The kind of people that I am hearing from are not the sort of people that are looking for credit. The credit seekers are not hearing from God.

I will watch, at least, portions of the inauguration. I DID NOT vote for Obama but he is now our President. I do not have to agree with him but I feel I must submit to his authority and I do feel I must pray for the man. I am curious to hear what he has to say, how he says it, and then to see if he walks out his talk.

I'll watch just to see all the looks on the drones faces.

I sear they have already turned him into a god.

If he does anything to tear that down.

What are the drones going to do?

I signed up. We'll be watching the inauguration.

It's an historical event, and Barack Obama is going to be our new president, whether we support his policies and political views or not. Since he is our leader, then he will receive respect in this household, even when we voice disagreement with him. He also has our prayers. My children will be watching as well. :)

I believe we should participate fully in the process of electing leaders, but at the end of the day, we need to pull back a little and put it into perspective. We shouldn't get so wound up about it that we can't even look at the man's face on TV without being upset. God is STILL on the throne. :)

I don't go to work until 1:00 tomorrow, so I might watch it. Not sure.

Without cable do people have a choice? The networks are going dawn to dusk Obama programing, which might be a bit much.

I completely agree. This is a milestone in the history of our country, to not watch and participate and even be glad for it is...reprehensible. Reading some of the comments here embarrasses me as a conservative.

I'll be watching today and tomorrow, and so will my kids. Not only is this inauguration a culmination of civil rights struggles of the past, it's a statement about the future as we install our first post-modern President. It's a change of an age.

My facebook status today says "The events tomorrow in DC stand on the shoulders of what happened yesterday in Selma. Long live MLK."

If it is reprehensible that we not celebrate a fundamental change that takes a hard left hand turn towards socialist ideology then brand me as reprehensible.

If it is reprehensible that I not celebrate the full scale execution of redistribution of wealth... write me down.

If it is reprehensible that I not celebrate future gun control run amuck... write me down.

If it is reprehensible that I not celebrate the control and shaping of private industry by, per open admission, purposely taxing some industries completely out of business... write me down.

Innocuous 01-19-2009 10:29 AM

Re: RSVP: For those watching the Inauguration

Obama is OUR President and he's the first black President in our history. We don't have to agree with his policies to celebrate these American triumphs, 1) A peaceful transfer of power, and 2) celebrating the historical impact of electing a black man to the White House within 40 years of the birth of the Civil Rights movement. This is an American event, not a partisan political event or a celebration of a political agenda. It is reprehensible for partisans to turn their nose up at collective history, not to mention that it's bad politics.

Don't miss this historic inauguration!

I have the sinking feeling I'm going to be sitting on an examination table in the doctor's office at the time of the inauguration. Or, worse yet, getting my blood sucked out by the phlebotomist. Of course, when I made that appointment for 08:20 MT last week, that was the last thing on my mind...I spent 18 hours in the emergency room last Tuesday, getting checked out for chest pains.

At this point, not so much worrying about Obama but about the stress test that the doctors say I got to have.
