It's a Slow Fade
 

Eddie just started a new 5 week series this morning called "It's a Slow Fade" from Casting Crown's song, which we showed the video of this morning. It was very sobering today - on whether the church is adapting to the Kingdom or to the Culture of today. In the next four weeks, he's going to tackle some tough subjects - gambling, alcohol, homosexuality and divorce. Should be interesting! We have to learn to confront sin with love, but still be bold enough to call it sin. There are some things that we HAVE to take a stand on.

That sounds very good! I personally am a huge fan of Casting Crowns. I bet it is a great series. Is this one he put together or he got from someone else (i.e. bookstore)?

He's been working on this series for about a year and a half. It's that intense. He finally felt released to preach it.

We just started going through The Truth Project, from Focus on the Family. It is 13 week study on a Biblical Worldview. It is absolutely excellent, thought provoking and hard hitting as well. It is a DVD series taught by Del Tackett. I highly recommend it! I think every new convert should go through it as well as every young person who is going to college! It's THAT good, IMO. :D

I have a pastor friend of mine who went through the training and is letting me work under him. After I go through it, I'll be able to get my own materials. We'll probably have record attendance at Wednesday service for this series. It is REALLY good!!! :D

Well, last Sunday's sermon was on Gambling and the one today on Alcohol. He presented them in such a great way - it's all about "Christ Centered Living". There are two more in the series, but these two were probably the most controversial.

We showed a video today that was made by the pastors at Life Church in OK, and it was really funny, but then very sobering - about alcohol. They make the most awesome videos!

Yes, they are all pastors on his staff. It's pretty impacting!
