BishopTenneys message at BOTT

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone heard Bro. Tenney's message from this years BOTT. Some of my Kin were there and said it was interesting. Have not heard it personally, but my dad was telling me about it.
Something along the lines of Core Values, Traditional Values, and Personal Values.:foottap

Yeah edjen... did you see the schedule?

http://www.thepentecostals.org/index...172&Itemid=213

There were no out and out wack-a-do's (except maybe Arnold, but he's wack-a-do in a pleasant sort of way). I still harbor a bitter grudge against one of the other listed speakers because of an anti-semitic remark he made in front of my boys.

But the rest seem rather balanced.

I have always loved the Tenney's. While being raised in Bro. Cooleys church in Lafayette, LA, Our youth group was always over at Tommy Tenny's church. I will never forget a Valentine Banquet with Nate Sabin. It was a blast!!! That was the days. It wasn't that long ago. I'm only 37.

This Royce Wilson, was one of the best preachers I had ever heard. I kept asking .. where did this guy come from? He preached on DREAMS, your dream isn't to BIG. You must get the DVD, I am ordering several. He reminds me of a young Rex Johnson, he will be booked now for years, if he isn't already.
It was a RHEMA word!

Royce Wilson preached at the Barberton church several years ago (4 or 5 at least) and I STILL listen to those CDs. He prophesied at the end of one of his messages, it was VERY specific. Unfortunately, it was not heeded and did come to pass.

He's the real deal! No ego there (so he's probably an unlikely fit for the organization in general), just genuine passion for the Lord.

He is the real deal, I can tell he isn't a company man!
He didn't preach a message that has been preached over and over. standards, doctrine, etc.
He preached something that was fresh, gave them hope, will cause them to dream BIGGER dreams.
AWESOME!

We have been faithful BOTTer for the last 10 yrs. This guy came out of the blue (although my child told me he has been preaching at the BOTT PK the whole time). I have repeated his serman at least 10 times to people - it is an absolute must have, loved the way he presented his thought... Just like VY said, Dream and dream BIG.

Joseph had a clear cut dream from GOD – when he shared his dream all of this happened to him: family mocked and laughed at his dream, he was sold into slavery, he was lied upon, he was put into prison, forgotten about in prison, etc…. It took 13 yrs to fulfill that dream and if Joseph knew all that he would have had to endure to fulfill that dream, he would have run. Just like most of us. God places dreams inside each on of us - do what you must do to fulfill those dreams and keep dreaming bigger and better.

The BIG wins – Terry Shock sermon, Anthony Mangun, Vesta Managun and so many more. Really, I wonder how each year it can get better and better… I am still amazed and it the entire conference was life changing.

no disrespect to Bishop Tenny in anyway. I enjoy his speaking and writing. I am just saying that I would expect no less from him. He has always found a way to present the gosepl, or a truth, in a way that is practical and easy to grasp. this does not mean he is shallow....just that he finds a way....or several ways....to present it so that everyone can understand and learn.

he is a GREAT story teller.

Perhaps he takes his cue from Christ who was another great story teller.

His sermon at BOTT was in regards to standards I assume.

I guess I'm not really into the whole...jump on the pulpit...scream till everyones deaf...insult other faiths...call people names...and when all else fails...smack the pulpit and thank God that we're oneness, baptized in Jesus name...because I don't really have anything else to say...type of preaching.

I'd prefer them to actually have something to say. I'd prefer to leave with something other than a head ache. I was there when one night speaker simply preached on the subject of screaming....call me crazy....but I need a little more than that.

I do believe so. He is gifted...but he also works real hard at his craft. I only wish others would follow he lead.

I have not heard his message....so I cannot comment.

I'm sorry for you and your sons. IMO...this should not be tolerated...along with preachers who use other demeaning terms...no matter how anionted they are.

By balance I mean....that while they are anointed....many of them have not practiced the art of preaching....they only know how to do it one way. Scream & hollar. As a preacher...I believe it is my responsibility to know my craft, learn how to be the best preacher possible. Does this mean I neglect the anointing...no...but it also means that I work to perfect MY abilities.

I consider him (Royce Wilson) to be a prophet. He's definitely got a vision... a big-picture view of it all.

I didn't hear Bro. Tenney @ BOTT, but would like to contribute that we have Bro. and Sis. Tenney frequently (especially Bro. Tenney) @ our church. They are nothing less than inspiring and life changing as speakers and true Christians one on one. What precious people. They have been such a positve influence, exhibiting wisdom, insight and vision for the kingdom. Their ministry in speaking and books have been such a blessing to my family and our church. Definitely the cream of the crop!

Morton Bustard told me Royce Wilson's message was the message of the conference. The chemistry was right and Jeff Arnold would not have wanted to preach afterwards, anyway. It was just the right message and nothing more need be said after for the night.

Sandra it would be a name drop if someone dropped your name...someone of your stature to say a name is not name dropping. They should be lucky you even utter their name. They probably tell their friends they say you...that is name dropping.

He wasn't talking about standards

wow..shocker!
Let me say this, he is one of the BEST preachers I have ever heard. I have heard many, in and out of the UPC.
This man has a rhema word. He has a humble spirit, this is his season.
I respect your opinion, but maybe its just he has a word for this generation. He isn't one to preach a sermon to please the old timers, I can tell he wants to please GOD. I am excited to see where God is taking him, I want to help be a part of that. JMO
