I need friends.

Hey guys, I know I’m annoying and that I really enjoy a good debate… sometimes too much. But I really do appreciate all of you. I’ve felt real alone in my spiritual walk the past year or so, that’s a long story. Lately I’ve felt like I’m just drifting around here on this forum without any real “friends”, like I just don’t fit in. Maybe I hold some controversial beliefs, but I mean well and I’m not above being mistaken. I need you guys a lot right now. My family is going through some transitions and I’m scared and don’t know what to do. I need someone I can get to know, someone I can open up to, someone that I can feel safe with, someone who will not judge me, but who will tell me the truth while standing by my side. So I had to say this….

I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone. I have a tendency to use strong words and I come off far worse than I intend. Please forgive me.

I also would like to ask if you guys would let me in. Let me into the circle of friends here, even if for just a little bit.

Hey Aquila,

There is no one I write to on here every day....or every week ...or every month. But one thing I know, AFF is always there. You can leave for a month and come back and it will be here and all your friends will be here too. Don't feel left out. AFF is one big happy (usually) family that is here for you all the time. :)

AFF is a great place when you are angry, need to rant, or just need to talk. I have sorted through many a frustration here.

Well I know I pick on you sometimes, but I do like you. And I for sure will be lifting you and your family up in prayer. Just stick your head out of the debate room every once in a while. We are allowed to have fun here you know.

Aquila, I agree with everything said here. I do enjoy the fact that you bring a different perspective to so many things. Even when I don't agree, I believe that a different perspective is usually healthy and needed for real conversation. I will be praying for you as you go through these situations...just remember that you are just going through and that this too shall pass.

I appreciate your posts greatly, and find a lot of common ground with you. Reach out anytime. Also, Facebook is a great way to feel connected. I have become better friends with acquaintances that way.

Bro Chris,

One thing I have learned about the people on AFF is that no matter what the differences are in beliefs, when someone needs prayer-- everyone comes together in agreement. You can rest assured that there will be lots of us praying for you, and God will help you through the transition that you face. Lean on him for strength, and lean on the friends you have at AFF for support because they will be here for you.

If I've ever offended any of you, I'm sorry. I can be sharp when in a debate, and I know that I shouldn't be. My bark's worse than my bite. I've been out of line before and if anyone reading this was hurt by me, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Feel free to notify me via PM and I'll apologize personally. I appreciate you guys so much, and in a way I've taken this forum for granted. You're people with feelings... and on occasion I've lost sight of that. I accept that responsibility. I'm sorry and I'll try to do better guys.

I don't know you, and, as far as I can recall, we have never really interacted. I don't know if you know this or not, but, your namesake in the Bible is NEVER mentioned alone. Have you ever noticed that? He is always mentioned along with his wife, Priscilla. The point is this: Aquila is never mentioned alone, just as you are never alone. You always have friends with you. I understand what you mean by feeling like you are alone in your spiritual journey. Believe me, I know. But, you are never alone. You have friends. And you have an ever present Friend. Further, you can call me your friend and brother in Christ. We may not always agree, but as long as you and I both are on a spiritual journey, we are brothers in the Lord.
