In Tucson, Az. lastnight during the Super Bowl as Larry Fitzgerald was running in for a 65 yard touchdown the broadcast feed for the game went off and 30 seconds od HARD CORE porn played. Full nudity and all then after 30 seconds the game feed came back on. Kinda weird and they could not and still have not figured out who it happened. Go figure.

It was ONLY in Tucson and other surrounding areas....I live close to Phoenix and it didn't happen here, but in Tucson it did. The clip apparently was part of actual sex scene. 30 seconds is not a long time for a nap, for lunch, but certainly too long for a sex scene on tv. The people that called in and complained about it were awarded 1 free day of cable.

aaahhh, then if it was localized , then someone hacked into the satelite feed at the local cable company...

terrible. any longer than 30 seconds and they probably could have located the perp.

This is something I am surprised doesn't happen more often. Those big C-Band satellites are full of soft (and hard) core porn and all it takes is the right button to be pressed at the wrong time and an entire city of cable subscribers is treated to a big surprise. When I worked as a master control operator for a local FOX affiliate we would record many of our daytime shows at 2am -5am and it was amazing what was coming on our line of B&W monitors throughout the night.

Well it seems that it was closer to 10 seconds. I was listening to a caller on a morning radio show and she stated that the cable company in Tucson has NO ablilty to ad anything to a nationwide feed, unless it is a small feed at the bottom of the screen like for an AMBER alert or something like that. The people that can add something would be the regional broadcasters. It would be like NBC sends the signal to places across the country and those places direct the feeds to the proper cities. So lets say that the place would send the signal to Tucson, parts of New Mexico and into Baja California so it is possible that the porn was on in more places than Tucson.

It does seem that for now the feed was only seen in Tucson and surrounding areas, but again not as far north as Phoenix.

According to PC World's article it was only seen on Tuscon area Comcast customers with analog service, Digital and HD customers were unaffected. Probably a small number of the total subscribers in the area.

Still, I think Comcast should get a blistering and a fine over this. "Inadvertant" doesn't cut it. We neeed to take back the culture and not curl up in a cave.

I highly doubt it was put on there on purpose at that exact time, by the TV company or anything. It must have been accidental OR someone hacked in and did it. Did you all see the road signs in TX that said "Zombies Ahead" if that can get hacked into the TV can too I would guess.

yes, and it can be more local than regional. The feed in from regional still has to go through each local networks system before going to you. That is why we cable users also have local channels that show the boring city festivals or city town hall meetings on a couple of the channels 24/7. This is why satelite users in the same area probably did not see it either.

Randy can probably let me know if Im wrong, but at the local level where the regional feed comes through, you could potentially hack and transmit what ever across any of the channels. Again, satelite users would not be effected because there signal comes straight from one source.
