On Facebook they have this thing going around to list 25 random things about yourself. I just read my daughter's and I was touched...surprised...happy. She said, "My mom is the strongest woman I know. Incredible about taking care of the people she loves."

I thought it might be fun here, but just make it 5 -10.

Rules: List random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.

1. I wanted to be an interior decorator or florist - not a preacher's wife

3. I wore braces at 30 years old

I've only rarely used my own picture here in my avatar
I've been an ordained UPC minister for many years
I hold a pretty high position in the UPCI
I could get some of you in trouble

1) I finish off a two liter bottle of diet brown pop almost every day. Doesn't matter what kind of brown, just so it's brown. And I prefer caffeine free

2) I've had 6 major surgeries in my lifetime and one broken leg, involving 5 breaks.

3) My first car was a '55 Chevy, which I wish I still owned

4) I know how to do calligraphy

5) I drive a Dodge Caravan. And I never ride with anyone else because I throw up when other people are driving. Guess that means I'm a control freak. LOL

1. I worked as a census worker one time in my life
2. My childhood dream was to a military pilot
3. I spent one night in jail as a teenager; one night was enough to bring about change.
4. I read most of my grandparent’s encyclopedia collection when I stayed at their house on a summer break when I was about 12 years old.
5. I love WW2 History and will read it voraciously.

I hum when ever I do laundry. Loading the washer or dryer I'll be humming; an oddity my children always commented on.

well since rcraig has really been a good sport.....

1. I covet my anonymous, ambiguous, amorphous virtual person/self on AFF.
2. I'm not big on music, although I do enjoy singing and praising God with a loud voice.
3. I have 1/2 as many step-children as I have children by birth
4. I heard LS preach/teach in the small home mission work where I received the gift of the Holy Ghost --he was involved (at the time) in ministry at a tiny assembly in upstate NY at the time.
5. My first car was a '64 Falcon...passed down from my grandmom....uniquely humbling at the time....but if only I had hung on to it now!

When my daughter was young she said she never worried about getting lost in a store because all she had to do was listen for me humming.

1. I would love to take a painting class
2. I drove an orange Volkswagen bug in college
3. I was in 4 wrecks in one year - none of my fault- the last one - someone ran into to me while I was parked in a car wash
4. I have had the same best friend for the past 40 years
5. I taught a musical drama class for several years

Some will know these things about me but perhaps some do not.

1. My first language was German (Pennsylvania Dutch)

2. My family's mode of transportation was horse & buggy till...

3. I left home at age 16

4. I pretty much like all foods... and especially stuff like wasabi, garlic, horseradish, ginger root

5. Kristin and I hope to serve as medical missionaries for a period in our life. (I am an EMT and she is an RN)

6. I sat in a confessional booth (the priest side) in Rome, Italy and forgave my wife her many sins :)

I'll bite! Sorry PO... I'm not as mysterious as you are... :tease

1. I have lived through the parenting of 3 teenagers, only one of which I actually gave birth to.

2. I have worked in a federal prison, a juvenile detention center, and in several schools for youthful offenders.

3. I was married, divorced, and the mother of a 3 year old at age 21.

4. I live in a town (town being a very generous word in this circumstance!) called Pumpkin Center! (Mike Phelps already knew that one, lol.)

5. I work for my little brother, and have occasionally mis-used that advantage to repay him for childhood debts.

6. (yes 6!, get over it) I LOVE music of just about all sorts! Music makes me a very happy girl!

2. I don't like to talk on the phone for longer than 15 minutes.
3. I am not a morning person. I don't sleep in, but I don't want anyone talking to me when I get up.
4. I spent an evening in jail.
5. I've been in two fist fights. I, of course, won. :D

Steve, I saw this in all seriousness - if you are interested in a short term medical mission trip (4-5 days) in Mexico, at a very reasonable cost (about $600 each person), PM me. I can get you on a team. It's an experience you would never forget, trust me on that one!! Some day I will post a picture on here of a baby who came into the clinic the year I went and tell about the miracle that God performed on that baby's behalf. It's an amazing story!!

I used to like to stay up late and sleep in, but I don't any more. I like getting up early and I like it really quiet when I get up. My husband is very cheerful and LOUD when he gets up. I have to say, "Would you PLEASE stop talking so loud!!!!!!" For 21 years!!! :toofunny

You mean there is more than one??? No, I live currently in Pumpkin Center, CA. It is on the outskirts of Bakersfield, actually Bakersfield has several different areas like mine that have been absorbed by the city proper, but we have a population sign and everything. I also live about 5 miles from Weedpatch, CA. I am absolutely not joking!!! We also have Oildale! :lol:lol:lol

That sounds awesome! We may do something like that to whet our appetite, but we are thinking of a year or perhaps longer... and it will be after the children are grown or nearly grown.
