What's your "one thing" ?

Usually I don't have a problem doing anything aroung the house that needs to done. We have a good relationship. No things aroung the house that are strictly a womans job.

But I have always had my "one thing".

My wife knows I will vacuum, I'll clean (most things) , I'll do laundry.

My one thing is cooking. Ok....I will make a sandwich. She doesn't have to cook if she doesn't want to. She can make sandwiches or whatever as well.
But she cooks when she wants to.

So Saturday is valentines day. Guess what, I'm still not cooking. Rather go out to eat.

What's your "one thing".

I don't get to have one. But if I did, it'd have to be the bathrooms. And washing walls. Ugh.

I HATE laundry. I'll do almost anything...I hate folding it and putting it away. I know, I know, I'm a bad woman, but man I hate doing laundry.:foottap

I'm allergic to dust mites and cleaning chemicals, so it's pretty much all of it. :ursofunny

Re: What's your "one thing" ?

I don't like putting away laundry.... have no prob washing, folding, or hanging it up... but just getting it all put away is a pain...

This reminds me of something my son said to me the other morning... He said, "Mom's are crazy. I can't believe they still clean the kitchen and clean the house, when they could easily make their children do it for them!" too cute... I guess I could make them do it all... but I want them to enjoy their childhood.... Now don't get me wrong...... they do dishes, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, putting away laundry, taking out trash, raking the yard..... They've gotta learn it sometime... better now rather than getting married and expecting the wife to do it all... don't think so! :ursofunny

I love to cook. You can have all the rest of it just leave me alone in the kitchen. Actually my wife and I made a deal. If I cook she will clean up. I hate to wash dishes.

Changing tires. I feel that as long as there is a man in the world, I should never have to do that. :D

It's probably good to keep those two things separate.

I don't have a "thing" but there are a few "things" that my wife doesn't do. She still thinks that you're supposed to just pound a nail into drywall any place you want something on the wall. I can't get over that. The calender is a prime example. It just baffles me. After marring a wall one time ... well enough. My "thing" that I can't avoid involves spackle and joint compound - with disturbing frequency.

Re: What's your "one thing" ?

I am so blessed...Brother Alvear makes the bed everyday! I get up earlier than he does and when I hear him up I go back to the bedroom but he has already made the bed...I am sure he would do anything if I needed the help but my daughter Rebecca helps me and my dauhter in law, Marcela. So I really donīt need help in the house. Making the bed is his thing that he likes to do...

Re: What's your "one thing" ?

By the way I too would do anythig to help him...

I LOVE LAUNDRY!! There is something rewarding to me about getting it all clean and hung up and folded. I know that's weird, but I've always enjoyed it. I also love to grocery shop. Finding bargains energizes me. I love paying bills and organizing the budget. I am a numbers freak.

I rarely vacuum - Eddie does that. Also, he irons all his stuff, because he's so much better at it than I am and he's picky.

The "one thing" I won't do - get up and speak. The one exception is getting up and talking about missions trips. I will do that!

AMEN!! My first job at 16 was working in the dishroom of a local cafeteria. I washed thousands of dishes during my 2 years there. To this day I cannot stand doing dishes! Plus, I am 6' 3". Most sinks are not installed for tall people. So, doing dishes over a too short sink requires a lot of leaning, which then makes doing dishes a real pain! Bottomline, I really hate doing dishes!!!

I'll do about anything................

except I will NOT touch the cat litter and I will absolutely NOT clean up the doggie doo in the back yard. I didn't want the cat and I didn't want the dog. So that makes them not my responsibility. I did want the boys, so that makes them my responsibility (and Walt's too) so we will clean up after them and teach them to clean up after themselves.

Sounds like a fair deal to me!!! I love it when my husband cooks. Most
of the time I cook, but he gets in a mood for a while of cooking and I
do enjoy the break. I let him know I enjoy it too!

Dishes.

I would rather throw away all the dirty plates and buy new ones than wash them.

Granted, this has changed somewhat since we got our dishwasher, but it still turns my stomach.

We use LOTS of paper plates.

I love cooking myself..... People just better be prepared for all meat products to be medium-rare. No "well done" for me!

Have you looked at the stuff on some salad bars? Straight off the side of the road.

I like ironing, dusting, vacuuming, folding clothes, cutting grass, using a weed eater, trimming hedges. Most anything that shows immediate results. 'Cause most times pastoring don't.
