Urgent Prayer Request-youths in deadly accident

Tonight we lost a great young man, Houston, from Christian Life Center. He and two other youth were involved in a head-on collision tonight. The young girl Ashley is in a coma. Ashley's brother Chris was not seriously injured. This is a devasting loss to all. Houston was loved by all. He loved God so much!!! I ask that you pray for all the families; his immediate family and his church family. I am at a loss for words. Thank you for your prayers.

What was Houston's last name. I am not sure you know who I am but I have extensive connections to that church. Please give me more information. Who were his parents, etc. What about Ashley and Chris?

[B]I'm not to sure, but he was Sis. Monk's grandson; Lotta Monk's nephew. I believe Houston is Cheryl's son. My nephew got a call this morning that Ashley has improved. Chris really didn't suffer that many traumatic injuries; his elbow. Chris and Ashley parents are Bro&Sis Coss. It was 2 vehicles and a big rig truck. The other car hit Houston's car head on. The big rig swerved to avoid hitting them. The big rig crashed into a ditch. The driver jumped out of his big rig and pulled Houston, Chris, and Ashley out of the car before it was engulfed in flames. Houston's car burned to nearly nothing. If it weren't for that driver, there would have been 3 fatalities.

Houston was 23 yrs young. A very focused young man. I believe he was a firefighter or in training to become one. He certainly was loved by all. This is a great loss. Houston was good friend of my nephew. He is so devasted. If I hear anymore I will let you know.

Thank You. I know the Monks and the Coss family. RevRandy is very close with the Coss family. Randy Coss most likely the uncle to Chris is a old friend. I will be seeing an a former extended family member tomorrow night. Will be praying as well.

Today was the Homecoming service for Houston. As I sat there listening to everybody speak such wonderful things about Houston, in his short life he touched the lives of so many. It was a beautiful service. There were tears and even laughter; Houston would have wanted everyone not to cry but rejoice in the Lord. One thing is certain is that Houston is in heaven having a good time!!!

The other two who were in the accident, Chris and Ashley, are recovering. Ashley is no longer in a coma. Thank God for HIS healing power!!! Continue to pray for the Monk and Coss family.

I was also at the Going Home Celebration today. It was not a sad funeralI have known the Monks since they came to Stockton in 1965 or 66. I was working at Metroplitan Life at the time and I was sent to transfer Bro. Monks life insurance over.I had at least three of their girls in school. Bro Monk was retired Air Force and and a fantastic guy.Sis Monk sang at my middle daughter's wedding. The Monk family sits behind my wife and I in church on Sunday mornings. I envy Houston being where he is tonight.

You are so right, it was not a sad funeral, it was a beautiful service!!! You could feel the annointing so strong as Sis. Monk sang!!! This service just made so many feel like going home to heaven soon. What a great young man Houston was. Today showed how much Houston impacted so many lives. There had to have been over 1000 in attendance. The church was full, even some had to sit in the balcony.

I am so sorry to hear of this accident. Only by the grace of Jesus did my daughter-in-law live through hers. However, she may be bed ridden for life and has three small children. The doctors have done all they can do. Now it is up to us to pray for her. I will be praying for the youths and the familys. Thank you for sharing. - Sister Judy Meissner
