"Lent" in the Bible

Well, now that we've celebrated Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) and Ash Wednesday, we are now into Lent.

A few years ago I saw where "Lent" is in the Bible.

I hadn't realized it but it's there.

In 1 Samuel 1:27-28 Hannah says:
27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:
28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.

Then, Eli says in 1 Samuel 2:20
20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.

not if you're gonna put those plastic beads around your neck.
That would be considered jewelry and would be a sin.
Remember, the Bible says that wedding rings are OK but jewelry is sin.

Pretty deep revelation Sam.
Thanks for sharing.

I have one to share also.

After much prayer and deep study, I finally recognized the first time meat was mentioned in the Bible.
The bible says Noah took ham into the ark. (Gen 7:13)

It might be in one of the apocryphal books known as the UPC Manual.
Remember, "holy tradition" is on an equal basis with the "written" Scriptures.

You are most definately WRONG! It was PETER for the bible declares he slept on his watch (now that right there is pretty short) Matthew 26:39-41
