Now is not the time to save money.

Now is not the time to save money.

Now is the time to eliminate debt.

Please, do not stuff money in your mattress.

Pay off your debts.

Especially your house.

Money may lose value, but you need a place to live.:thumbsup

I was hoping to maybe crash at Ed's place if things got real bad.http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com...ons/icon10.gif

But seriously, paying off debt is like saving - because you are literally saving money, potentially a huge amount of money in future interest charges.

"Saving" means to have more in the future. The fewer debts you have or that you accumulate the more money you will have saved.

Never met you Pel - but we will work something out.

This attic is getting full - and Anne is driving her Momma crazy - but we will make it.

How many should we prepare for?

Our house and land is paid for. Now just get 2 vehicles paid for and we are good.

We spent a lot of money building churches so now we're just bumping along. I wish we had our house paid for. We don't owe on any vehicles though.

This.

I have some inheritance I'll be receiving later this year and I was going to put into some sort of IRA for my 4 yo daughter....investing ahead for college. But after all I've heard I'm seriously thinking about investing it in gold. I'd hate to invest it for her and watch it depreciate to very little value.

Toward the end of the year the panic may subside a bit. Remember, there are many HUGE investors trolling around right now looking for some great buy opportunities. Once they start pick up the pieces you can follow their coat tails and be pretty safe.

After the mid-term elections in 2010, (IF! the Republicans can get their act together) we may see a change in Congress. It's Congress who sets the budget and tax policies. With some tax relief you could expect to see some huge gains in the markets as investors flock back in.
