Former JCM'ers only....PARTY!!!!
 
In July of this year there is going to be a garden party for my dear friend, former JCM professor: Sis. Jewel Yadon-Dillon. She will be 80 years young. Her daughter Gloria and I are putting together a wonderful surprise and need your input.

Please PM me if you want to know what it is and how you can contribute.

We would like to request the honor of your presence
at an open house, Celebrating Mom’s 80th Birthday!

This will take place on Sunday July 5th
At Valley Pentecostal Church
2900 Life Way, Caldwell ID, 83605

Celebration between 3:00 – 6:00p.m.

We would like to request no gifts please… however there is something you can do!
As you know, Mom is a lover of the written word. We would like to suggest that you consider the following. (She doesn’t know about this part)

One of Mom’s friends, and former JCM students has volunteered to put together a scrap book of cards, notes and pictures to present to Mom on this special day. If you would like to write a letter or card to Mom, Rhonda will scrap book it for her to be able to read and enjoy. Please feel free to include pictures past or present of you and your family. Please put the names of the people in the picture on the back of it so Rhonda will know how to label it in the book.

For those of you who would rather do this work on the computer, you may e-mail your letter, and scanned pictures to gloriahurst@hughes.net, I will print them out on photo paper and see to it that Rhonda receives them.

If you are unable to attend, and would like to send a card, but would rather it NOT, be scrapbooked, you may mail your card to Gloria Hurst, For Jewel Dillon 5925 Hurst Hill Rd., Sugar Grove OH 43155. I will see to it that she receives it unopened at the Open House.

For those of you traveling, if you are flying, you will fly into Boise which is just 30 min. from Caldwell. For accommodations, I would recommend the Best Western or La Quinta Inn. Both are located near the Church in Caldwell.

Ok. I just now opened this...since I never attended JCM.

I just have to say. I would never, ever, ever have expected to hear Jewel is going to be 80 years old! She's a very young 80!

She is precious! It is difficult to believe she is 80 as it is for me to believe I am 51.:sad

While sorting through pictures for this wonderful event...I have noticed that those who have strayed from their ultra-conservative roots; the men look exactly the same, and the women look better.

It is funny how that all the standards that are talked about on each thread come down to the same basic thing...repression & suppression of women. Makes me want to go our and buy a veil and become Muslim...NOT!

For all the JCM'ers going to send notes and pictures to be included in the scrapbook and the DVD please send them by next week. I am going to New York for 10 days and I won't have much time to put things together. Thanks, Rhonda

Thank you to all who submitted pictures and letters. I have two full albums of memories for Sis. Dillon to treasure. Tonight I am off to Boise, ID and am looking forward to a restful week of time with my friends.
