The Police Were At My House!
My oldest is 11 but she looks 13 was home with the 9 & 7 year old.
They were eating lunch & had not finished & the 2 girls were getting ready to go to a birthday party but we had forgotten to get the card. I said finish your lunch & Kristin watch things while I run to the store & get the card. Ryan the 7 year old got a hold of the phone & dialed 911 & he thought he hung up in time (he didn't) & Kristin was mad at him. A few minutes later a police officer was knocking on the window & she answered the door & was asked if there was any 911 call from this house & was there an emergency? My son got a short lecture & my kids were all scared to boot. I got home a few minutes later & was told all of this by Kristin. I called the police on the non emergency line & apologized & they were understanding in regards to his age. The only concern they had was that the kids would get so scared that when they need the police they will be too scared to call. Thing is we had this talk before with our kids & the school told them about 911 being a serious # to call!!!! Sigh, yup our kids will embarrass us!:blush |

Your son reminds me of Dennis the Menace!!!!!! :toofunny I remember waking up one morning to a loud banging noise. I went to see what it was. My son, 4 years old, was using his daddy's hammer to knock the cabinet door OFF of the vanity! I asked him why he was doing that? He said, "I didn't have anything to do." :thwak :toofunny |
Re: The Police Were At My House!
I was at church for choir practice years ago when my son was about 5 and the police showed up at the church. They asked what was wrong and we were puzzled. They said someone dialed 911 from that address. My son knew better, and I didn't believe it was him. When the story came out, there was a naughty 8 yr old that put him up to it!

Re: The Police Were At My House!
When my brother was 4, he got up way earlier than anyone else one Saturday morning and walked half way around the block to my parent's friends' house. Miss Arlene (that's what we called her) answered the door when Rin rang the bell and invited him in. He sat down at their table and was eating breakfast with them when they asked him how his mom and dad were doing today. Rin says, "My mom is ok, but my dad died last night in his sleep."
They were devastated and immediately came running over to my mom's house. Imagine their surprise when they walk in the door and see my dad sitting at the table eating his own breakfast! LOL :ursofunny:ursofunny:ursofunny Kids will say and do the funniest things. |
Re: The Police Were At My House!
A few months ago, the police showed up at my son's house at 2 am and said they had received a 911 call and traced it to that house. My son told the police he did not have a house phone, he had the phone line strictly for the internet, and he used his cell phone for everything else and he had not made any calls. About a week or so later it happened again. The police suggested that there could be something wrong with the computer modem that caused it to dial 911. Well other people said the modem could not do that. My son called the phone company and they sent somebody out and fixed the phone line; it was something wrong with the line that made it do that.

My wife and I were perfect when we were children and we raised our daughters to be the same. I feel sorry for the rest of you.

If we had stopped after adopting Justin, we would have had only one child who is a clone of my husband. But we didn't. We went on to adopt Keith. Who, unfortunately, is more like me than anyone can believe. You know what they say about paybacks? Poor Walt. He didn't do a thing to deserve the paybacks I am getting. LOL |

Re: The Police Were At My House!
We had the cops come to our back yard when we had a cook out,. They had gotten a call from our youngest little one at the time. It is an out for eating broccoli. They actually told us they phoned back and since no one answered the phone, they always make a trip in person.
