I Met Will Smith!

I met Will Smith yesterday & he was in town scouting locations for Men In Black 3 about an Illegal Alien they track to Canada.
He said that he filmed Irobot here a few years ago & likes it here & in talking to him, he mentioned that there is a minor part he could offer me (more like a cameo) but it would pay between 5-10 grand which I could use!

I have a question for all here, would I be compromising my convictions to do something like this?
Is this a little bit extra money that will come in handy?

The part that I would be doing needs no acting experience so that isn't a problem.

What would you do?

What would I do... I would do it.

Would it be compromising your convictions... that would depend on what your convictions are in this area.

No you wouldn't be compromising. You would be compromising if you got a tv and acted like you didn't have one. That is compromising and being hypocritical. But you are good if you are in the movie

It isn't like I go to the theaters, but I wonder if people would call me a hypocrite?:blush

Re: I Met Will Smith!

I mean what are the odds that I would run into him for one & that he would offer me a part?

Ron, it would be the same as if you worked in a grocery store and had to ring up cigarettes or wine or a dirty magazine. It's a job.

Dude if it would have been for the movie 'I am Legend' that would be cool cause it has vampire type characters in it.

If you think theaters/tv is wrong, then you shouldn't do it.

If you don't think they are wrong, and the content of the film is acceptable, then OF COURSE DO IT!!!

Good luck!

Possibly... People call folks lots of things.

Don't let that shape your life though.

Ron: knowing your distaste and heart felt conviction against anything Hollywood and Tv i don't see how you could possibly partake in this.

Stand by your conviction. it should never be about the 5000 bucks you could make for your family.

But, if they track aliens to Canada, how will they know when they've found them? :slaphappy

Perhaps the aliens will go to Canada because they took the rumors seriously that the Canadian military was taking a year off.

:)

At the risk of being called a Party Pooper, I agree with Free at Last and Mizpeh on this one. If you have a real conviction against movies and TV, I think it would be ludicrous to participate in making a movie. I'm sure it's probably PG-13, and would have quite a bit of language, etc.

NOW, if you DO NOT have a real conviction against these things, then I say GO FOR IT!!!

Is it a conviction or do you just not like tv's or hollywood because not all tv or hollywood is bad and I fill pretty sure god would want you to support your family plus these movies are not that bad in content

If my memory is right, he's made posts before where he is very against TV/movies. That's what I was going on.
