My Church Louisiana Style
We had the great preacher, Jerry Dean from Bossier City preach our district Men's Conference. This is the second year we have had him, he's awesome! Again this year he stayed over the weekend to preach our Sunday services at Capital Community and again he hit it out of the park. We have been having amazing church for quite a bit now and he just tapped into what has been happening.
click on Sunday PM "Prophetic Word" to see him and God do their thing. *WARNING-LOUD CHURCH ALERT* :) http://www.capitalcommunity.ca/media.html |

Re: My Church Louisiana Style
Jerry Dean was my wifes pastor when we got married and he was the pastor that married us.
After what I have been through over the last 2 decades the list of men I have a high level of respect for is a mighty short list. Jerry Dean... is a lifetime member of that list. I have been to Mens Conference with him, stayed in the dorms with the Bossier City group and been around him off & on for 2 decades now and Jerry Dean is real, considerate, respectful, prayerful, honest and when he brings a message from the word you will certainly be blessed by it. I also know Stacy... he has a powerful ministry... as does his wife. When was evangelizing at a church we attended his wife spoke on some Sunday mornings before he spoke. Powerfully moving and anointed words she shared. Both of them are great ministers. |

I kept looking around at my fellow inmates and thought to myself, "I don't belong here, they all look sick". What was funny is that every time they took me for another test I had to be wheeled by some poor soul whom I could whup and run circles around, sheesh! That was my first stay in a hospital, my first I.V., and hopefully my last! I will be in services this weekend but no leading for me yet, I might play me some geetar though:) Funny, the staff made a mistake and had me fast food and COFFEE too long, and when I was told by my doc that I could go back on coffee, the nice young nurse tried to tell me no...let's just say that she NEVER wants to see me again:) (and I got my coffee) |

Re: My Church Louisiana Style
If you want to hear a full sermon of his check out the Sunday AM. I knew he has a pastor's heart from last year...after the Sunday PM service, he didn't want to go out, but wanted to get to the office and watch his home church's service online. Then he began to talk to the screen as if he was there! The camera caught his daughter laughing on the platform during the preaching, I think he was going to have a talk with her, he he he:)
My pastor has a "secret" signal which means..."shut up" and, "meet me in the office later" Yiiiiiiikes!!! I hate it when that happens:( |
Re: My Church Louisiana Style
Monkeyman,
Glad you are better - - you were cracking me up all hooked up while you were in the hospital - not just to the IV's, but laptop, earphones, etc. TOO FUNNY!!!! This is a weird question, but someone on here mentioned fish oil being bad and causing them to have "heart attack" like symptoms - you don't by change take fish oil do you? |

They say that in my past I had a heart attack, so that is why they are being very careful. All the specialist that saw me (3) and my family doc, think it was just elevated sugar levels, but they are still doing more tests to rule other things out. You see, what worries everyone is that my Dad and his two bros all passed away early with heart attacks. I told my wife she has to put up with me at least until I'm 50, then I can kick the bucket. She gets mad when I tell her that...not sure if it is because that's so far away:) |

They have wifi, just not for patients:( I did ask my family doctor (btw, he's the Head of the Medical Association and he is good) for his password! A friend of mine who is a tech for the high school, confiscated a flash drive that can find passwords in 30 seconds the same day I was admitted..believe me, I thought about asking for it, lol. When the police became involved, I thought better of it. |

Bossier isn't a bad place to live. I wouldn't want to live in Shreveport. But Bossier is a pretty nice place and there are other small towns around that are still within 15 minutes or so from the church. I'll tell you a story about one time when we were at Men's Conference. I was staying in the Bossier dorms with Brother Dean and the men from his church. After one of the day services we went out to eat at a local restaurant. When we were coming out of the restaurant one of the brethren found a scratched off lottery ticket in the parking lot. We all went and took a nap and while we were getting dressed for the evening service someone slipped that lottery ticket in Brother Deans pocket. He was on the platform that evening service and we were all sitting on the front row. During the service he reached into his pocket to find a pen or something (he was on the platform seated and not at the podium at the time). When he reached in his pocket he pulled the lottery ticket out and quickly shoved it back into his pocket with eyes very wide. We all busted out laughing and he smiled and pointed at us like... I'm going to get you guys. |
