There is a big push by Hollywood, New York, the news/entertainment media, the National Teachers' Union, PBS, the Federal Government, etc. to force the GLBT agenda upon us.

I agree. Even my children recognize this. Just the other day one of my kids commented on the fact that everywhere you turn, someone or something is pushing the gay agenda.

When he sang that first night, it was just EVIL. Since then I think they have toned him down somewhat to please the crowd. But I'm not surprised at all about him being gay; the eyeliner kind of gives that away.

Sam, despite the fact that I think you have a prejudiced attitude for your remark about fox news, I will respond to you.
I will not vote for a gay person because I don't want to promote his lifestyle and allow him/her to be an influence in the lives of young people. That is not to say that I would promote discrimination as you have by your joke. My vote is my right and anyone can withhold it if they please for whatever reason.

It's American Idol. Not the "Best Singer" awards. Meaning, the whole package counts, AND you should vote for who you think deserves to be someone Americans look up to.

Adam Lambert is definitely talented, no doubt about it. And singing ability on its own, I'm a fan. But as for voting? It's fair for me to vote however I wish, and for whatever reasons I wish. That's a democratic process at work. I can vote against someone because they have a mole on their nose, if I want to. :D

I haven't voted this season anyway, but if I do, I will not vote for Adam Lambert--partially because he's gay, and partially because his actions show he's not a good role model (e.g. "American Idol") for America.

If I were a pastor and invited a local government official to the platform, should I step in and prohibit him/her because of differences in political views, religion, or sexual orientation?

If I were a pastor and allowed singing groups on the platform who were not members of my local assembly, should I demand that one of the members of one of the groups leave because of differences in political views, religion, or sexual orientation.

Is this any different than a church having politicians or professional singers on the platform who have different views when it comes to politics, religion, or sexual orientation?

I believe Adam's genre of music is more alternative/rock/metal ... if that's correct, there are a lot of males in that genre who wear eye liner.

The difference between a homosexual and the other issues you have on your list is homosexuality is something in the Bible that is dealt with in black and white - it is a sin and says so in the bible period - wearing colored shirts, neckties, are issues that are personal convictions and yes is up to a pastor whether he wants that on a platform - you need to compare apples to apples.

Oh, please. I'm an American, I'm a right wing conservative, so if I want to vote (or not vote) for someone based on those views, I'm welcome to. :thumbsup

Their character matters. If it doesn't--it should. And I can make it matter with my vote. Even if my vote is the only one.

Quit trying to be so politically correct. :D "Sexuality" shouldn't play into the discussion? If a person is public with their sexuality, they give others the right to have an opinion about it, and to express that opinion. If they didn't want to give others that right, they should keep it private.

Regardless, AI has always been about the whole package. Not just the singing. They have to look good, be good, and perform well on stage as well as be able to sing. If I decide to take the time to vote for someone (which is rare anyway), I will consider everything about them that concerns me.

As for homosexuals on platforms--unless someone states publicly that they are homosexual, I don't feel I have the right to judge them as being such--I'm not God, I don't know their hearts. Are you, and do you?

Some men are effeminate, and that should be dealt with. However, saying effeminacy necessarily equals homosexuality is like saying a woman with a gregarious personality (which can be viewed as "flirty") is necessarily an adulteress. Not good to make those kinds of leaps.
