Is Jeff Garner still UPC?
 

I've been trying to help my kids in San Francisco find a church in the city. Does anyone know if Lighthouse/Pastor Jeff Garner are still UPC, or did they leave?

He just preached for us Sherri and held a "syposium" here a month or so ago.

I do believe he is still carrying a license with the UPCI.

I think they're going to try it soon. I hope they like it; it would feel familiar to my daughter I'm sure.

From what I hear from friends in the SF area there are a number of great churches. I hope your daughter and son in law find one that is familiar to both of them.

Yes, there are a number of good churches in the Bay Area - I was basing my opinion on the fact that Sherri is not UPC - but in my opinion, she still holds the basic doctrine of the UPC (one God, Jesus Name baptism, Holy Ghost w/the evidence of tongues) - but not the standards. Therefore, my assumption that Sherri's kids would like Jeff's church. He is not very conservative in that regard. But - it's JMHO...

I too hope that they find one they are comfortable being a part of! :thumbsup

I know Jeff pretty well and Jeff and Julie are great people. He's a man of integrity and lives his convictions. I believe he still holds to the basic tenets of the UPC.

Yup! they do a wonderful outreach in their community ministering to all peoples needs.

I know on Friday nights they go into the streets with soup for those that are hungry.

Thats the basic tenets of Christs 2nd command.

PastorTipton's church down the road from us was going door to door in our neighborhood this weekend and spoke to my daughter.

She came in and told me a local UPC church was in the neighborhood but when I saw what they had given us I realized it was the serpent seed folks who escaped CA falling into the ocean by moving to my town.
