Those look like fun! I noticed the wine bottle and the red spike heels...

Kristin and I had a blast there as well.

Our planned trip back to Northern Italy this August is now again postponed - this time because of an expected bundle in swaddling clothes...

Re: Italy/Paris Pictures

You actually got that close to the Mona Lisa? We waited three hours (of course looking at other art) then the mob would only let us get within twenty feet!

Sorry to disappoint, but it wasn't a wine bottle! It's only water. But the spike heels.......yes, those are permissable!

We did have alcohol pushed at us everywhere. They could not believe the stupid Americans did not drink. At one hotel, we had a chilled bottle of champagne, at another hotel, a chilled bottle of wine in our room. At one restaurant, they brought us glasses of champagne for free and at another one, free little shots of something. I was not the least bit tempted on any of these accounts. One whiff of the stuff makes me wonder how anyone can drink it! I guess you acquire a taste for the stuff.

The bottled water was expensive enough!

Right. They do wine with everything. We did enjoy the two to three hour dinners with entertainment though.

I might feel differently about alcohol if I were living in an area like that. I don't know how any missionaries over there could take a very strong stance against it. It's just like water to them.

I personally don't see it as evil etc., but I do respect Kristin's view which is like your own.

It's WAY littler than I expected. I always thought it was a big painting, but it's really very small.

We haven't made reservations yet, but we are planning on the last week of December - right after Christmas. The conference will be in the first week of January in Davao City. This is all just in the planning stage right now, but I think it will happen.

No, we don't know anyone over there. And we only saw one lady the whole time we were there that might possibly be Apostolic, as far as standards go. So I assume there's not a very large presence over there, unless they are more of the persuasion like us.

Years ago, I used to know a missionary to Italy, but I'm sure they've retired by now.
