Interesting Clothing Trend in Italy

Ok, we Americans have been almost completely liberated from pantyhose, and in Italy, almost every woman had on hose and it was HOT outside! I'm talking young professional, sharply dressed women and old shuffling women. I even saw young women in shorts with hose on. I saw zero bare legs, other than Americans! Eddie and I both noticed it and were surprised because you think of them leading the fasion trends, not us.

What's up with that?????

Ummmmmmm.......the shorts and hose doesn't really fit with the UC look, I don' think. Unless UC's are different in Europe. Who knows?

Wow.... I was totally unaware of the American liberation of women wearing Pantyhose.

To the point that it is an "interesting clothing trend" that most women wear them in Italy?

Amazing.

Hey... Don't go throwing accusations my way. I quit wearing them YEARS ago. :)

Jk btw... I've never worn pantyhose. Although I do buy them every year for my tomato plants. :) But those are just knee highs.

Your poor tomato plants are sooooo out of style. Poor things. They're probably humiliated.

Well... For their own self esteem I pick them once they start blushing and bring them inside.

It doesn't help though because they turn full blown red in just a few days. :)

Well, it's too late, everyone had already seen them. They can't just get over something like that quickly. The green bean plants had probably been ribbing them unmercifully.

It's probably the Purple Hull Peas that do it. There are a bunch of them and they have a mob mentality. And some feel that they are full of hot air anyway.

I think hosiery gives a finished look. I don't like bare legs at church or businesses. Casual wear it is fine. Nor do I like low riding pants on boys enen if it is considered the trend.

The pantyhose being worn in Italy is interesting since so many fashion houses and designers originate there.
But renda may be on to something re the "shaving" , or lack thereof.

It would make sense if it were a colder climate.....like Finland perhaps.

please note...anything I say is teasing Sherri...I do not think in any way ladies have to wear hose...just because I have been labeled UC does not mean I believe a lot of things that are associated with UC.´s...
I hate labels and just joke about some of this silly stuff...lol..so do not take my posts serious unless I say I am serious about something...

I wear tights some in cold weather, and sometimes (rarely) black hose just because I like the way it looks. But regular pantyhose - VERY RARE. I do use leg bronzer when I have a skirt on.

I detest pantyhose! They are torture devices! :foottap (But I have to wear them on Sunday morning. :sad )

Any man who preaches against bare legs should be required to walk 10 miles in another woman's pantyhose! :D

Well.

In pantyhose made for a woman.

Do they make pantyhose for men? :coffee2

panty hose keep away ticks and other nasty critters that attracted to your skin and groin areas when you are in a field (training or combat environment) for extended periods of time.

The only reason I have never wore them is because I have just never thought in enough time to get them when I need them. I know of guys who have used them, obviously not on a regular basis.

I haven't noticed if the ladies in my church where panty hose or not. Maybe I should go looking this Sunday! :)

Recommendations of a specific brand? I have seen it on women and it looked so fake - and orange color... afraid to try it. :blush

L'Oreal Bronzer in a brown tube. It's immediate and a good color. But it does have that funky smell and you have to quickly wash it off your hands.

most of the ladies in the church we went to in Tampa area did NOT wear them. Here in Phoenix I do not know if I have seen ANY women with them on.
