Divine Modestee
Darcie told me about this site today. It has modest (higher necklines) tees, tanks, camisoles, etc. It also has modest swimsuits, skirts, dresses, etc. and they don't look old-fashioned like some places. I was pretty impressed.
Right now they have cute tanks and tees on clearance - some of them had been $27.95 and they are now $4.00. |

Re: Divine Modestee
It's a good site, but not everything is going to be viewed as modest by conservatives--including me.
I don't think swimsuits are modest, personally, even if they are "full coverage." My girls and I wear swim trunks (board shorts) to the knees and rash guards. (Usually with a swimsuit underneath because of the tight fit and light weight material.) For modest, practical, lightweight and protective (from the sun--not sharks) swimwear, try something like this: http://www.coolibar.com/women-s-swimwear.html or http://www.solartex.com/servlet/-str...%26-Sun/Detail We have fair skin anyway, so going bare in the sun would be pretty stupid--we'd all be fried. Jeffrey's poor back and shoulders blistered one time because I let him go without a shirt to swim--and he had multiple applications of sunscreen. (supposedly waterproof, but apparently not) If I'm just with my girlfriends or Jeff and the kids, I might go a little lighter on the clothes, but at a beach or the lake with a mixed crowd? I think that calls for modest clothing. JMO!!! |

Ok, well forget the swimwear!!! Look at the camis and tees and you will see that there is NO CLEAVAGE! I am so sick and tired of seeing cleavage these days; it's everywhere.

Re: Divine Modestee
Actually I think the board shorts and rash guards are cute, but some on here would not think those are modest either.:tease
I don't mind wearing a modest bathing suit at the beach where I don't know anyone except my family. What I will not do is wear a bathing suit in front of anyone else (male) that I know. I just think there's a level of familiarity that's too intimate in swimsuits. It's just a personal conviction. At the beach with my family, TRUST ME, no one else is even looking at me or noticing me!!! |

Hannah and I searched numerous stores a few months back trying to find a tank to go under one of her dresses--trying to fill in a low neck, and the tank necklines were nearly as low! LOL!!!! |

I agree. I don't have any hang ups on basic necklines and can handle v-necks or u-neck shirts but everything I see in the stores is really low cut. Some styles just can't be filled in. A single male co-worker approached me a few months ago with a ?---he wanted to know if ladies clothing had gotten more revealing. This is a 25 yr old who doesn't attend church and he is concerned with the way teenaged girls are dressing. :blush |
Re: Divine Modestee
Try having to find clothes for an 8 year old girl. I am appalled at how "old" the clothes look!!!

Re: Divine Modestee
I saw some Amish ladies today at the beach. They were wading in with their dresses on. It was so sweet. Amish are some of the nicest folk I've ever met.

------------ ********** ------------- ********* The 3rd hr of the Today show just had a doctor as one of their guests and her topic was sunscreen; What to use, how often to apply , its importance etc. AND she suggested having your children wear rash guards as sun protection! So if not for modesty---wear rash guards to avoid skin cancer.:thumbsup |

Even if you can't find an adult sized rash guard, there are knit materials that don't hold water, and aren't clingy--wear them over a suit in a dark material, and it'll be almost the same. Usually you can find the right tees in the workout clothes. |

I'm convinced that some people don't own mirrors. Because, seriously......
The public-at-large has NO desire to see some things! Way too much information. |
