Please Watch this Video/Pass it On

My son has created another video and needs views to get selected to be judged in the final 40 that will be judged by officials. There is a cash prize which could help to fund the next part of his education at USC Film School. (Of course I am scared to death for him but he persists in following this passion).

Thanks for those of you that can take the time to view the 30 second video and a double thanks to those that pass it on.

Yikes! I don't even know how to figure that out. I was amazed I was able to bring it over here given my technological limations.

Praxeas, perhaps you could read about it at Right.org and fix this problem if there is one given your EXPETISE in this area. Please.... :sad:noidea

And a big thank you to all! :hanky

Praxeas- Forgive me if I ask too much of you but I do consider you the internet/computor guru! :boomm (In addition to your fine analytic ability of course)! I think it is picking up votes from over here, but don't know for sure.

Michael has until June 15th to get views. He started late (one of the last out of the gate given that he was in school and all).

He has somewhere around 200 views on Youtube and 700 at a yahoo site. He needs to be in the top 20 views out of 69 videos to advance to the judging round. :blah

rgcraig- Thank you! :thumbsup

It appears Michael has moved up 5 places since this morning and has now had at least 300 views at Youtube. He is on the bottom of the second page of rightorg youtube views (based on number of views) He needs to be on the first page by June 15th.

Of course there are other sites that these videos are being viewed at so we can't definitively say that the youtube view leaders are going to be those that make the cut but its a good start. :pirates

From what I gather at youtube embedded videos add to the "views" or number of times a video was viewed

FOR YOUR INFO QUIZ (Answers will be doled out eventually) :pirates

1. How long did it take to shoot "30 second" video?

2. Why did the police get involved with this project?

3. How much did it cost to make the money bags?

4. How much money was in the brief case? What denominations?

5. How much money got away with the wind?

6. How many young men were in the water during the production to keep boats in correct position?

7. How many people were involved in 30 second video from start to finish?

:drama

How long did it take to shoot the "30 second" video?

About three and a half hours which is independent of the time spent rounding up people, preparing props, finding boats, splicing and editing.

Thanks to all who view. Forgive me for those that that might be offended that I ask, but I am his mother. :13loads

And for those that don't know me; I posted on the forums quite a bit in the past. :thumbsup

Thanks Sinatra! Never a dull moment with someone who is into shooting videos. Read the blurb below. :runhills

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhymY...layer_embedded

Why did the police get involved with this project?

Michael had the use of a friend's paddle boat. But where was he going to get a motor boat? What is a director to do?

So he drove over to a lake in a fairly exclusive neighborhood and started knocking on the owners' doors; asking them if they knew anyone who could loan him a boat to make a video. I kid you not!

Michael told us he had been to eleven houses before the police officers arrived to question him and find out if he was casing houses!

After my son told us of his adventure and my husband and I lifted our jaws off the floor; we suggested to him that it might be wise to start with family before knocking on the doors of strangers.

My husband took him over to his cousin's house and the next day the video was filmed. Where there is a will, there is a way! :boat

LOL Good thing he was able to convince them he wasn't casing the neighborhood! Oh my!:ursofunny

How much did it cost to make the money bags?

The material and paint were about $10. The cheesecake for the seamstress's immediate services doubled the cost. :)

Getting the spraypaint on the bags without it seeping below the pattern was trickier than expected. The bags were filled with shredded paper and a broken brick to give it some weight when throwing.:bigweightlift:

It's taken me this long to figure out what you needed us to do to help your son. Every post in this thread should be a copy and paste of his video and a click to watch. As I went down the thread on the first page, I clicked on on the videos also. Will that help your son?

mizpeh- According to Praxeas; viewing the clip at the forum [for the full 30 seconds] should count as one view and eventually that view will show up over at youtube towards overall view count.

I am talking about what went into this seemingly simple video each day so that it will remain on the front page. Hopefully, some will be curious about how something turned out in the video and look again! :heeheehee

The top 20 viewed videos will be up for judging based on preselected criteria. Michael's got a shot. However, there is some stiff competition for sure. :pillowfight

To read your response to me, I had to go down this thread, past 4 other posts that had the video embedded in them. I clicked on each video as I went down the thread, as well as the video in your post, read your post, then embedded the video in this post!

When is the contest finished? I'll make a point of doing this every day! :)

Newperson,

Tell Michael I said congrats on the great video and that I just recently bought a Kessler camera crane with the K-pod system and Hercules head! I have the extended ball option that I have my Satchler FSB-6 fluid head on and then one of my Sony V1U's on that.

Also tell him we are using a Glidecam 4000HD stabilizer with a Flycam 5000 arm and vest and love it.

Hoping to work in the budget next year to get a motorized pan tilt head for the Kessler crane and a Glidecam X-10 arm and vest for the 4000HD.

He will know what I am talking about!

My goodness! I never would have thought of that. I am not sure that it will work though because it seems that youtube only registers so many views per person or hour or some other criteria (given that it sure isn't picking up all the times I visit).

The contest forbids having programs or bots viewing (whatever that is). The viewing part of the contest ends June 18th. The actual judging happens the first week of July.

I appreciate your commitment to viewing. Michael does too! :bdayparty

Blubayou- How very kind. :ty

Mizpeh- Yes I skimmed the initial posts. I agree with the writer (provided they were only demonstrating the result if we applied the same thinking to men and women's standards). The thought process is not new. In fact, monks in the middle ages used to pluck the hair from their head so that there would be no covering.

Since I work full time now; I stay away from posting except for on rare occasions such as this thread (which requires no careful response nor substantiation to back up my position).

However, on some occasions, I have read a post or two and practically had to sit on my hands to keep from responding! :thebunny

How much money was in the brief case?

The brief case that was dumped into the wind contained $120 in $1 bills.
