I hope they keep fighting.
I hope they cherish freedom, once they achieve it. We have a lot to be grateful for. Can you imagine what our civil war would have looked like, over 100 years ago-- can you imagine it being recorded as it happened? Would you watch it? Would it motivate you to pick a side and fight? Would you want others (strangers from other countries even) to watch your country implode? |
Re: Iranian Website
Thanks for the links JD. Those are interesting sites to take a look at.

Can you imagine seeing the battlefield at Gettysburg. In 3 days, 52,000 soldiers died. When I visited the battlefield, I tried to imagine what it would have looked like, but it's impossible. |

Re: Iranian Website
The 10th amendment to our Constitution has been destroyed as the result of the American Civil War. Instead of a coalition of sovereign states joined together for common defense we now have a strong central government imposing its will upon the people often against their wills.
The founders of this country had just been freed from an oppressive government and they provided us the right to bear arms to defend ourselves against a federal government if it became large, intrusive, and oppressive. |

There is something very human in being repulsed by the ravages of violence and war-- especially on such wide scale. What's happening in Iran could be the beginning of something painful, but beautiful in the end. However, some of the "opposition" protesters have been chanting, "Death to America" so I read somewhere. |
Re: Iranian Website
It looks like a lot of the Iranians are about as disappointed with their election as some of us are about ours this past November.

There is a good reason for the Fed govt, even though it has grown large and grotesque. |

Youtube is now shut down in Iran.
Yahoo and hotmail have "banned themselves" from Iran. Facebook is banned in Iran. The U.S. govt has asked that "Twitter" stays active in Iran. |

Re: Iranian Website
Something that I find interesting is the prominent role of women in all of this.
Just as many women protesting, getting beat and dying as men. Some of the attacks on the Iranian women have been nothing less than brutal. |
