My favorite quote:

“I love spare ribs, baby-back, it doesn’t matter. I’m a rib kind of guy. There’s just something about gnawing that meat off the bone — it’s kind of barbaric.”

Nice article- Does Jeff do Memphis style BBQ or North Carolina style. There is a guy Bossier City that does wonderful North Carolina style with a vinegar BBQ Sauce.

Normally, he does ribs with a dry rub, and serves sauce on the side. (And you don't really need the sauce.) Is that Memphis style?

We've never done ribs with the vinegar BBQ sauce, but we have used it with pulled pork. :thumbsup

WOW! That is totally kewl. I didn't know he had a fan club and all. He should expand on this venture.

I buy spices from John Henry.http://www.johnhenrysfoodproducts.com/newproducts.aspx They do big business.

Jeff could do a line of his own.

:D :D :D

Nice little article with recipes for an Easter meal and a plug for his book that's due out sometime between April 19 - May 15.

http://www.tulsaworld.com/scene/arti...1_CUTLIN380035

All of the recipes are delicious. If you like lamb, you'll love the smoked rack. If you don't, go with the ham. Lamb isn't my favorite thing, but it was good smoked--especially with the Herb Paste. The Spiced Potatoes recipe is one shared by my sister and they are fabulous. They're even good cold!

He is just a GREAT cook! I never really liked BBQ until he cooked for me. He approaches cooking very scientifically, using gadgets and thermometers and recording *data* from his experiments. :D

I have a few recipes in the cookbook and it was hilarious because I am a completely different sort of cook. I throw things together until they taste right and then I'm done. I had to re-cook all of my recipes so I could write down exact amounts of everything. The publisher wouldn't let me get away with "salt to taste" or "use a bit of olive oil." :heeheehee

It's so nice to have a spouse who can cook. It's dangerous for your waistline when you have 2 good cooks in the kitchen. :D

We do both enjoy cooking, but I was actually attempting a bit of humor with the back rub comment! :)

For your precious information, "She" is anything but cougar-ish and the fact that your mind went there.. well, I guess that says volumes doesn't it;)

If, in fact, this is some vain attempt of yours at retribution for her being smarter than you, well now that's something I can understand.

I have discovered that when folks find themselves outsmarted and they have nothing witty or intelligent to say, they often resort to name calling, yelling, etc. which obviously doesn't work but it does make you feel better.

She is smarter and wittier than all of us.. so I can certainly understand how that can be frustrating for you:bigbaby
