Raising the Dead

I heard a story yesterday...thrice removed....of Rev Kilgore praying for someone in a funeral home to be raised from the dead and they got up out of the casket.

Any knowledge of this? Did I miss something? Wonder if someone could check it out.

If it's true, perhaps Rev Kilgore could meet me at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville, CA? I'll pay his way and rent the backhoe.

LOL!! :ursofunny:ursofunny

I don't suppose there is any video... or news reports - oh, I forgot they would not cover something that gave glory to God...

I guess we will just have to "believe" it then. ;)

Benny Hinn talked about his resurrections on TV and everything, so it has to be true.

Like my sweet momma says about wacked out herbal cures, "They would not be allowed to put it in a book if it wasn't true..."

If there is even a modicum of evidence there will be coverage in ALL news outlets and thousands will be at Bro Kilgore's door.

This is right up there with the story that everyone has about "an uncle of a friend" who had a big old Lincoln town car (or other big boat of a vehicle) that got 40+ miles to the gallon until they took it in for service and were informed that their car had the "wrong carburetor" installed and upon putting the right one in, saw their mileage drop to 15-16 MPG.

I hate it when that happens.

I think this ranks up there with the Urban Legends - - this is just an Urban Pentecostal Church Legend

Like lighting striking the alter and splitting it?

Or one of the Urshan's meeting the anti-christ in the desert sometime in the early 80's or late 70's?

If you are talking about Rev. James Kilgore, he was my pastor for many years and I don't recall ever hearing him tell it.

If you are talking about his father C.P. Kilgore, very, very possible.

Well...I know it still happens..my great grandmother died in church out in the foyer of the church and by the time they found her was stiff and blue..a rn checked her and confirmed she was gone...church prayed and she came back speaking in tongues. But funeral home? wow...I mean not only would God have to raise the person but get rid of embalming fluid repair cut ligaments...and what if he or she had been a organ donor?????? that would cause quite a stir...hehe But I believe He's definatly able!

...I listened to that message on cassete when I was a young boy......I thought it was fascinating. Especially the part where they ate the leaf that sustained them all day......I guess not until now did I think the whole thing could be a bold face lie.

Do you remember which Urshan preached/told that story?

Organ donor? There's a point that doesn't get discussed much. Would "God" kill the recipient to raise "the dead?" There's a sort of balance to the equation, but it is a bit ghoulish.

And on the original topic: I seriously doubt you'll ever hear such a claim coming from the lips of Bro. Kilgore himself. He'll tell you all day about God's goodness and saving power, but I've never heard him once fall prey to silly fables and exaggerations.

... well, one "evangelistically speaking" exaggeration, once.

"Which do you want first? The good news or the bad news?"
