Dear Admin and Owner

A few suggestions, from your humble servant.

1. Go through your members list and delete every one with zero posts.
2. Go through your members list and delete every one who hasn't logged on in the last year.
3. Ban everyone who professes atheism, agnosticism and Islam.
4. Ban everyone who rejects the baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by tongue-talking, as a normative experience.
5. Ban everyone who rejects baptism in the name of Jesus as a scriptural norm.
5. Create a Pentecostal History section.
6. Change the name of the forum.
7. Create new admins that are interested and active to replace any who are too busy elsewhere. Make sure they are truly Pentecostal.
8. Get rid of the political crud off of your "new posts" section.
9. Create a section that is "links only" that lead to every Pentecostal organization's major periodical.
10. Bring back Pastor Poster. :thumbsup

Great Idea. What are you going to call your board?
I agree with your doctrinal comments. I can't tell what would work to verify people as being "truly" Pentecostal.

The political stuff could be cleared up mostly by putting a few members on ignore. ;)

(Too bad admin can't do that) :D We just scroll past political stuff till it gets reported where we have to read it. :D

There are a few good suggestions on that list. We haven't done a forum purge of zero posters in a while... need to drag The Mrs out of hiding... she's being a slacker isn't she? :D

It is an excellent us four & no more approach. Also the "swim or drown" comment was an equally astute expression of the aforementioned approach.

Agree. We don't need people trying to tear down some of our fundamental beliefs. This should be a forum for Apostolics.

Agree. Anti-"Jesus name" folks can find their own forum! I'm talking about people who think Jesus name baptism is a heresy.

Re: Dear Admin and Owner

*Ahem*

Getting rid of dissenters and questioners results in the death of a forum just as much as the opposing tact. I don't know how the FCF did it, but "back in the day", there was just as much questioning and debate--there was just a different dynamic. I don't know how it was accomplished, because I wasn't on the admin team, but someone was doing their job right. I'm not saying the admin team NOW is doing a bad job, but something IS missing, there's no doubt about it.

You really need all corners covered; you need the doubters, the believers, the conservatives, the liberals, the pompous, the mice, the dumb ones, the smarties, the shallow, and the deep.

Debates on the FCF were not always respectful, and they were RARELY politically correct. Remember the Blue Denim Whales thread? Talk about getting hot under the collar--that one got on my last nerve! But did it get shut down? No. Were people allowed to say what they really thought? Yes!!!

Maybe Thad's Tab should be brought back. Maybe less censoring of things that interest Apostolics is in order, and save the censorship for the really bad stuff, like people who just want to push the gay agenda, or mock Christians for their convictions. It all depends on your end goal: Do you want an Apostolic forum or not?

Maybe some previously banned members should be invited back....

Maybe....:D

I have work to do! This is very distracting. Thanks a LOT EA. :sad

Hmmmm. I think the idea, D4T, is that this is supposed to be a place for Apostolics to discuss things that interest or concern them--not a place to convert the lost.

That may be part of the problem here. We're so worried about what readers will think, but in the beginning (someone correct me if I'm wrong) I believe the FCF was created to give Apostolics a place to talk freely, debate things they may not normally be allowed to debate, and basically have a safe haven for open discussion. To question norms, without removing the foundations. To poke at traditions without poking fun at the elders who created those traditions. Not to question the existence of God, or the validity of scripture, or argue with folks over whether healings and miracles actually take place. These aren't people who are clueless about the workings of God's kingdom; these are people with knowledge of the truth who have rejected it for whatever reason. I can count on one hand the number of times a rank sinner with no knowledge of Christ or the church has come to this forum and asked for advice on how to be saved, or asked to be shown the Gospel.

If I want to spend time convincing atheists that God really does exist, I can go waste my breath arguing with them on the atheist forum. I don't believe that is the purpose of the forum.

Politically correct and inoffensive need to be thrown out the window, IMO.

I was only on FCF for a few weeks before it's demise, so I have nothing to compare to. Just what other people have said.

Thad's Tab didn't go anywhere. It's Thad that's MIA........ I won't get into why Thad is MIA.... but I will say he can return IF and when he wants to return--as can most of the other MIA members. If they need passwords reset--the majority of them still have contact through facebook or other places to contact one of us to request it.

I think most corners are still covered... except for the conservatives. Which leaves a really empty corner.... but no one made them let cobwebs build in their corner... they are welcome to come back and sweep out the corner.

We have extended grace and mercy a number of times to banned members. There is no reason to believe that it wouldn't be extended again in some cases.

Ok..this IS distracting.... I have work to do too.....

It should be the least among us...the ones with the least posts. I nominate all of the newbies who start a welcome thread and then never post. ;)

I have to believe that back in the day of FCF people were just getting their feet wet questioning and speaking up.

This many years down the road has enpowered more to speak their mind and we just have a lot more outspoken people than we did back then (the negative ones).

Does that make sense?
