Houston Area/Beaumont Folks -- NEED INFO

Please send a PM. Have some questions about churches in your areas. A friend of mine is looking at that area, and I want to help him out.

Yeah, he wears a suit and tie which is a little problematic for me. I'm praying for him.

Houston and Beaumont are about an hour and half apart. Which one do you really need?

Beaumont - Bro. Jonathan Elms is a great church. I go there. :thumbsup

Houston - There are several. Life Tabernacle is good and so is Royalwood. Royalwood is a lot stricter on standards if that is your thing.

Life Tabernacle is SE of Houston, Royalwood is NE of Houston.

Who is Life Tabernacle?

Royalwood is UC?

Our youth pastor has preached for Bro. McCoy several times-- and one of his sons (Joel) has preached at our church. I've never met the Elder Bro McCoy--but his son that I have heard preach is a very annointed young minister. He spent several weeks at our church a couple of summers ago, and we really hated to see him go back to Texas. We'd have loved it if he could have just stayed with our church.

Really need to know exactly what town..... from Houston to Lake Charles there a more than 100 really good churches (or more).....

if you are IN beaumont, I dont know that you would want to drive to H-Town but there are other options.

Conroe is just north of Beaumont, Vidor just east, several good churches in Beaumont proper. Just sout toward Port Arthur/Orange has some more...

LOT of options...

Life Tabernacle is Pastored by Jim Kilgore.

Royalwood is pretty conservative. No wedding rings on the platform. So if you sing in the choir you have to take your rings off to sing and then put them back on when you sit down, is what I have been told. When I went there you could wear wedding rings.

Really preaches against TV's also.

100 degrees with 100% humidity. That's the whole Spindletop area.

You're better off where you're visiting now Elder E.

I do NOT understand that at all. If it's not wrong to wear in the audience, then it's not wrong to wear on the platform.

Silly, silly, silly!

The Holy of Holies of the Tabernacle is old testament typology of the new testament platform. There's a CLEAR difference. I'm surprised you don't know that with your UPC bible school education.

Bro. White's is an excellent speaker and minister and pastors a revival church in Silsbee. Even if you just go once, you owe yourself the treat to go.

Irregardless is a word, meaning regardless when used informally.

irregardless |ˌiriˈgärdlis|
adjective & adverb informal
regardless.
ORIGIN early 20th cent.: probably a blend of irrespective and regardless .
USAGE Irregardless, with its illogical negative prefix, is widely heard, perhaps arising under the influence of such perfectly correct forms as : irrespective. Irregardless is avoided by careful users of English. Use regardless to mean 'without regard or consideration for' or 'nevertheless': : I go walking every day regardless of season or weather.

NO IT IS NOT!!!!! (yes I yelled)

It has been added to the dictionary just like "ain't" has been added." There are many words in the dictionary that are not recognized in the English language. "Irregardless" is a double negative and will not pass any spell checker. The word "Regardless" does not need "Irr" in front of it.

Some dictionaries are adding words like "Flustrated" even though it's not a word either, but because many people who forgot to go to English class!!!

"Irr" is added when one wants to mean the opposite of what is used after the "Irr", just like "Irreligious."

Come on, people!!!!

Or vice versa. I was thinking the same thing. In my opinion this makes no kind of sense. Be either totally against them or totally for them, why is there an inbetween?

Lie: Sinners prayer
Repeat this prayer after me. (Says prayer) Joel then says if you prayed this prayer you are saved.

Actually, what Joel always says is that if you say the sinners prayer "we believe" that you have been born again. He doesn't go all the way and say they are saved but it can be very misleading.

Saying that I believe someone is saved doesn't mean I am telling them they are saved. Remember even the devils believe.:thumbsup
