About holiness
I was in chuch for years Got bapitized and recieved the Holy Ghost.
Then things started to happen and slowly I couldn't and didn't go to church. while I was out of church I cut my hair and even wore a pair of pants. Do you think I can be forgiven? I have repented several times and feel ashamed. Is there still hope? Can I start over? What should I do??? |
Re: About holiness
Yes you can be forgiven! :)
As long as there is breath in your body, there is hope! You can repent right now and come back to the Lord! :) God bless you! |
Re: About holiness

I am Thankful I found this site. I had been searching all day for an Apostolic forum site.

Though the prodigal son left the house, the father still considered him his son, as you have and are His daughter. Don't worry about what other ladies might be thinking about you. It's you who will answer to God about yourself, not them. Draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you. |
Re: About holiness
Find a UPC church that is more like Jesus, if you feel it must be a UPC church. (Maybe look for an Apostolic church if there is not more than one UPC church?) What good is looking holy if they don't have the fruit of the Holy Spirit in that place? I hope you find a church with people that will help you know the love of Jesus and not the judgment of the pharisees.

Re: About holiness
First of all, repentance is only necessary once, as long as its sincere. Faith comes in when we believe God is merciful enough to forgive us. If you doubt His ability to forgive, you don't have faith at all. You have to choose to throw yourself (and your doubts) on His mercy, and He is big enough to handle it all.
Secondly, if people are looking down on you, go somewhere else to church. There are plenty of churches to attend, and sometimes a fresh start is a good thing. But are you sure they really are? Make sure you don't project your own feelings onto others; maybe they just feel awkward and don't know what to say. :) Talk to God on a regular basis about everything that's bothering you, read the Word as often as you can, and find a good church where you can worship with likeminded people and hear preaching and teaching that is firmly rooted in God's Word. |
Re: About holiness
It is probably just me thinking they are looking at me wrongly. I love my church and don't want to leave. I guess I am just so disappointed in myself for doing this...I need to forgive myself aswell.

Me thinks this is either a) a hoax or b) someone that knows the ideas represented on AFF, and wants to hear some justification. Dr. Laura would have fun with you.

even BE that, its just part & parcel of various emotions that run rampant in a person, when something is amiss; Good news though, is that IF you persevere, you will be back in the swing of things before you know it. Just think postive thoughts when the negative ones come along, and you WILL overcome., just takes a bit of time, and effort, on your part, is all. I'll be prayin for ya. ;) |

Re: About holiness
I just felt sooo bad that I did it and went searching for someone that may have been through this before. Let me add that I have never ever been on this site before yesterday. I am not "Sneaking around" Although I think its funny and have had a few laughs at some posts on here. I don't take my personal convictions lightly at all can you tell??? But I have forgiven myself and have fait God has forgiven me and am on my way to a knew start.
God Bless! |

Granted not all "funsters" are as easy to spot as Ogatt and Good Sister A, but it is usually pretty obvious after a few posts. I just sit back and enjoy the conversations (and marvel at some who I can envision the veins popping out of their foreheads in anger and frustration as they take the jokesters serious). |

Re: About holiness
I think it's sad that someone had been taught that if they violate their personal convictions in any way, it's like they've committed such a bad sin, they can hardly even forgive themselves.

Re: About holiness
You'd think since school has started, DA would be busy teaching, instead of such satire! :)
