WEC I'm looking your way

Since I believe GS elect Bernard has now done a position paper that beards are not of the devil after all, and even the WeDeclare crowd has conceded that all media is not of the devil per se....

How much are those dues again?

My advice to you is:

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

Not likely, DB flat out said that it would be hard for someone with that viewpoint to continue in the UPC and he saw that position becoming less in the UPC.

"It indisputable that a minority of Oneness ministers in the UPC and outside the UPC have believed that the new birth occurs at repentance only. However, this view has indeed been a minority. Within the UPC it is lessening, although it may be increasing outside the UPC. Moreover, from the beginning, most leaders of the movement as well as the major organizations have taught that Acts 2:38 is the complete salvation experience of the New Testament. For documentation, see my book A History of Christian Doctrine, Vol. 3 and my booklet Understanding the Articles of Faith."

Notice only his revisionist History is referenced to support his position.

Someone said, "History is a fable agreed upon."

With the UPC the fable is that the one-step doctrine is ignored in their history, or if it is grudgingly acknowledged, it is said to be very much a minority opinion.

UPC is similar to the way American history was presented in schools years ago. Nothing of substance was included about African Americans. It was as if all they ever were was slaves and made no real contribution. That's the way one-steppers are treated in UPC history. It's almost as if they never existed.

Guess I'm more optimistic than you guys are.

Bernard is from Texas, and in Texas we are famous for the Two Step.

I am sure something can be worked out.

DB is in the pocket of the cons. I don't believe for a moment that this is a move to unite the factions or that DB is even remotely close to be able to unite the factions. If he tries, he will be crucified by the cons....and if he doesn't he'll be abandoned by the mods and libs. That's my take. :D

I respectfully disagree.

I too disagree.

1. DKB, was not with the cons in the TV vote.

2. He nor his assistant got on board the recent witch hunt to label the progressives among us as emergent churchers.

3. There are still a fair number of cons suspect of UGST and it's value.

I think in UPC terms DKB is a moderate.
