UPC in 2030

In light of recent developments....splits, breakdown in long-term leadership model, message creep, visioneering challenges, and generational shifts...what will the United Pentecostal Church be like in a little over twenty years: 2030? Will it still be in existence? Will it trim down, consolidate, and begin to grow again? In short, what is the answer to the question asked many years ago at GC (can't remember the minister) "Will the UPC survive the onslaught of history?"

200 ministers.

87 showing up for GC.

Tickets $4000 apiece.

Hearing rumor of a split over the issue of whether the 3 in "3 Point Plan Of Salvation" should be spelled out (Three) or not (3)

Instead of one GS there will be three -- a triumvirate, a lib, a con and a mod. Issues will be settled in a "death race 2000" style venue.

I would pay the 49.95 on pay-per-view to see that!

Yes, in the lovely bonnet with my teeth out? My little brother is in front of me and my parents behind me.

The mid 20th century cultural preservation will eventual fade as new generations rely on their own spiritual conscience instead of trying to live up to past generation expectations.

This is kind of like the story of the lady who chopped off the edges of her roast beef because that is how she was taught. When asked why she did it, she decided to research it with her family. It turned out that it was a tradition passed down about five generations. With further research, she found out that her great great grandmother started chopping off the edges of the meat because she only had one small pan to cook the meat in. She had chopped off the edges so the meat would fit in the pan.

The tradition was passed down, but the reason for the tradition somehow got lost.

I have used that story so many times! Perfect example!

I think they'll still be strong oneness three-steppers. Some of the extra-biblical rules will greatly weaken.

Actually, you have it backwards. She's the one seated on the left shoulder of the gentleman with glasses. She also has on glasses.
