I Leave for Brazil in 3 weeks!

I'm SO excited! I fly to Brazil in 20 days with a Missions group out of East TN (Actually S. Hoover's Uncle-in-law's group). We are staying at Iguazu Falls in SW Brazil for a week, and then I leave the group and fly alone up to visit with the Alvears for 2-1/2 days in NE Brazil!! I will meet back up with the group in Rio and fly home. I will be gone from home 12 days, which is the longest I've ever been away from Eddie, so that will be sort of weird.

I had a prophet from New Zealand prophesy over me a couple years ago (who didn't know me at all) and said that I would start going to the nations without Eddie. I knew it was a confirmation of what I'd been feeling, because I have this tremendous burden for foreign missions, and he has this tremendous burden to send money but not go. LOL!! I have gone twice to Costa Rica without him, and now I will go to Brazil. Next year, I will probably be going to Kenya without him too, unless God changes his mind.

I can hardly wait to hang out with the Alvears in their homeland and see what God is doing through their ministry!!!

Sherri,

I know you have to be waaaayyyyy excited! I am excited FOR you :)

And just a tad jealous. LOL

Have a great time. I pray that this trip will be lots of fun, but even more, that it will be a profitable trip for the Kingdom of God. :)

Boy, oh boy! Isn't THAT the truth!! Sure wish I could join you. But alas, there is this little thing called money :(

BUT, to my delight, I am looking forward to meeting the Alvear's on Sunday at MOW's church :)

...and we are so honored that Sherri will come up and visit with us while her friends will be going to some of the most exciting sightseeing tours of Brazil...

You all you precious folks are invited to visit with us anytime...

Their church is having a "singing" while I'm there. I can't tell you how excited I am to get to go to that! Every time I hear Bro. Alvear's CD, it makes me cry - the Portuguese is so beautiful! I won't understand a thing, but I will enjoy it all.

Re: I Leave for Brazil in 3 weeks!

Well, I'm sitting in a hotel in Memphis. Last night, I discovered that I am right next door to where Renda works, so she is coming to get me and take me to lunch somewhere today, since I don't know my way around out here by the airport very well.

Eddie and I stayed here last night, and he flew to Baltimore this morning for a conference. I fly out to Brazil tomorrow afternoon, so I'm kind of stuck in this hotel for a while. I have his car right outside, but I don't really have anywhere to go and don't want to spend any money, so the malls are out. I will take a shuttle to the airport tomorrow and he'll fly in Saturday and get the car to go home.

This is the longest I've ever gone away from Eddie. I won't see him for TWELVE days!!!:sad The longest I've been away in the past is 8 days. But I'm very excited about Brazil!!!

I believe that's normal for someone with a missions burden.

Yes I agree with you...travel and missions do go together.

Sherri, I hope you are blessed at both locations. Next time perhaps Uncle Paul can fly in the resident missionary of Brazil - Sis Alvear!!

Yeah, I didn't have any input on who gets to attend this retreat. They would have been on the top of my list!! However, they are probably exhausted from their trip to the U.S., so they might not have wanted to go anyway.

I am the Missions Director for our ministry, and there's nothing that I'm more passionate about. I love missionaries and I love to go and try to be a blessing in other nations. I only wish I had started when I was younger!

Had lunch again today with Sherri - her hotel is next door to me, so she came to eat with me at work. Good lunch, good conversation, good friend.

She's off to the airport at 2:30 - - God be with you in your travels!
