Last night I preached to some inmates with our newly formed prison ministry. I have never done this before, but what happened was exciting (for me at least) as I've never done this before. I have been used to preaching in a traditional church and occasionally in a nursing home; however, I had lots of fun getting to know some inmates and delivering the word.

This ministry was started from our church a couple of weeks ago and they started with 7 members. The following week they had the same number. However, when I started preaching last night we went from 8 to 15. They kept coming in one at a time to hear the message.

Please forgive me if it sounds like I am bragging (you guys know I really don't do this), but at the end of the service they all came to the alter as God drew them. I've never experienced this before. GOD is good! I give God credit for using a sinner saved by grace such as me.

That is awesome to hear. I thank God for those with burdens for prison ministry. Everyone needs to hear the gospel good news!

It is a halfway house or minimum security prison. Thought maybe I should clear that up.

I preached my first message at a jail service in Tulsa, Ok when I was only 17. I had a captivated audience.

Awesome, Easty! Give 'em HEAVEN!

I was just recently appointed the chaplain to the Sheriff's office and have been teaching a class there for almost 1 1/2 yrs. It has grown so that we now need to divide it up into 2 classes. I teach twice a week for 1 1/2 at a time. It's called Life Skills, but I basically use Pastor John's 10 Undeniable Rules of Life to teach them.

Keep it up and you WILL see a harvest. Jesus remembers that we go to those in prison in HIS name! :D

How did you get a chaplaincy position with the Sherrif's office. What would one do to get this kind of position.
