Is a 100% sinless life possible?

For anyone besides Jesus, I mean.

Out of the many billions of people who have ever lived, some still alive, some yet to be born, is it possible for any of them to live a life (of at least, say, 30 years) without ever once doing anything wrong? No murders. (That's probably fairly common! :lol) No adultery, stealing, lying, idol worhip, etc. Ever!

I'm not talking about some kind of default guiltiness through Adam's sin or anything like that. I mean genuine acts of sin. Include sins committed unknowingly. E.g., if a woman wears pants (or think of something else, if you don't think that's a sin! ;)) without knowing it's sin, God would call it sin anyway (right?), so count that, too.

Include sins committed (if any) before (or after) being saved (those who were lucky enough). Look at the whole time line of each life.

So. What do you think? Certainly, everyone would agree (I think) that some people commit more sins than others. There must be a bell curve or something. Most of us are bunched together near the middle of the range. Some really bad guys are off to the right, sinning way more than average, but some really good folks are at the other end. Some have to be really close to the Zero!

Could there be anyone with a lifetime count of exactly 0 sins?

YES

EDIT: I should clarify. Assuming God is just then yes.

Depends on what happens to all the people in history that never heard the gospel.

Is the voting thing broken, or is the frog really the only one that voted, so far?

I see so-called "Christians" in streets all the time falling down to worship graven images.

Worship of the ancient Estruscan goddess Akhuvitr is especially problematic.

I haven't voted. Probably won't. Anyway, the names are visible: this is a public poll.

Yes and all the fuzzy warbles too. It's such a sad state of affairs.

I cast my vote with Baron.

Is it possible for a snake to walk upright 100% of its life, (say, for at least 10 years) without one little slither? :)

You do realize if it's impossible to sin then if someone doesn't hear the gospel God cannot judge them to hell and still be just?

I don't think he intended anyone to ;)

That provokes a question. Could there be such a thing as english tongues? A bunch of english words strung together that has no meaning in english but might have meaning to God?

Click "View Poll Results" under the choices. Under each count there's a list of names.

There's stuff I know I shouldn't do...gospel or no gospel. So it would seem it's possible to sin even without hearing the gospel.

But I can't help but think that Timmy is using this to make a point and I would HATE to be part of the point he's trying to make!!!:ursofunny

In theory? Yes.

In practicality? No.

So can I give two answers?

Re: Is a 100% sinless life possible?

If it is impossible to live without sinning from some point in our lives... then John was dangling a carrot on a rope when he wrote about how his writings were for the believers to not sin.

Timmy ALWAYS has an agenda, and it's not what a sincere Christian might expect when he/she accepts his request. LOL :D

Is this supposed to be a trap? Whether or not God puts folk in different categories is beside the point, isn't it?

My answer stands.

Just a thought. If someone besides Jesus ever did live a 100% sinless life, what would that mean?

Being THE sinless one and learning to stop committing sins are two different things.

Jesus was right in saying we would do what he does and greater. Paul was right in saying sin shall not have dominion over us, and that we who are dead to sin need not live any longer therein.
