Whatever happened to Josh?
What ever happened to Josh? As we talk about the many things we talk about here on AFF, I can't help but wonder whatever happened to Josh. Did he repent of his sins and leave his old sinful lifestyle? Did he find a good Apostolic church and get baptized in Jesus Name? Has he recieved the Holy Ghost? Does any one know what ever happened to Josh?
Does anyone know who Josh is? As we continue our discussions about everything from politics to the new GS to debating whether or not is okay to drink alcohol- (can you believe it, Holy Ghost filled Christains having to debate whether or not its okay to drink booze?)- has anyone stopped to pray for, or at least wonder about, Josh? Does anyone but a very few even care who Josh is? Just wondering.... ...maybe if we don't know who Josh is, its because we spend too much time talking and not enough time listening. |

Must've been before my time but there's a line in the middle of your post that made me laugh loud. (can you believe it, Holy Ghost filled Christains having to debate whether or not its okay to drink booze?) That's funny. |
Re: Whatever happened to Josh?
I checked the members list and "josh" hasn't posted since 1/23/08 - almost two years ago.

I don't remember him either, even though our memberships might have slightly overlapped.

The Josh I'm referring to joined in October of this year. He has posted only one time. Oh, and he goes by another name (though he signed his post as Josh). He's "YesJesusLoves". I was just wondering, what ever happened to Josh? |

OneAccord, been checking daily to see if Josh has posted. I am still praying for him. I know PETER has been very burdened for him also.

Re: Whatever happened to Josh?
Do we know that Josh is a real person? I mean the character of "Josh", not the fact that there isn't a real flesh and blood person behind the screen name posting.
He could be, but on the other hand the post seems rather..... Mmmmmm.... Wellllll...... |
Re: Whatever happened to Josh?
I believe that Josh is real, and has a real burden and a hard battle. I spent 40 years battling what Josh is going through now. We should all pray for and reach out to the Josh's of the world, there are a great many who are bound by the devil and sin, who want help and don't have the strength or resources to help themselves. Jesus helps those who turn away from the sin, the turning away is the hard part, unless you have lived it, don't assume it's just a matter of doing it, the physical battle is very painful, the spiritual is harder, and the devil drums on your brain the whole time. Don't just read his words, look into them and you can see his pain.
As for his post, there is no Mmmm,,,,,,,, welllll in it, but there is much pain. Rather than question him, reach out to him, negative comments only damage people like Josh, positive ones lift them up and help them. Pray for the many Josh's of the world. Bro. Peter |

Re: Whatever happened to Josh?
Well, Josh (YesJesusLoves) wasn't really the point to my questions. And, yes, I too have wondered if, in fact, he was a "real person". When I began this thread, I was thinking about the story of the Good Samaritan. A traveller was wounded and robbed and left on the side of the road. A priest came by, and rather than providing aid, cross the street and went on his way. A Levite came along and looked. But that was all. And, on down the road he went. So I wondered, where were they going and what was their hurry that they couldn't render aid to someone obviously in need? Then I saw YesJesusLoves' post and wondered how many of us even saw it. How many "passed by on the other side" and hurried on to the next juicy thread. How many took a peek and then forgot about Josh with the click of the mouse.
But, then again, this isn't about other people...its about me. I didn't offer Josh an encouraging word. I didn't offer to pray for him. In fact, I didn't pray for him at all until I felt the Holy Spirit check my spirit. I found I had a priestly or Levite spirit rather than a Samaritan spirit. I didn't take the time to be involved with Josh. Josh may not be real. But, I guess I'd rather err on the side of caution and involve myself with one who may need my help, rather than just hurry on by, not even giving the Joshs of this world a second glance. I commend the folks who did offer Josh a prayer and/or a word of encouragement. I hope I learn from their example. Like the fire department, its the Christians duty to answer a call for help, even if that call turns out to be a false alarm. |

Has anybody tried to contact him?

I believe the reason Bro. Peter took personal notice is because just two years ago, he had been in the same place as Josh. Been there, done that. Knew it was reality. A year ago I read Bro. Peter's testimony of the miracle God performed in his life. (His wife received the Holy Ghost this year.) Today they walk and live in Victory! Victory in Jesus Christ. http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com...109#post803109 Sept 15th Peter and Iva Wells stepped off of a Air-Canada flight from the island of Newfoundland into our waiting arms at DFW Airport. We spent 10 wonderful days with this wonderful couple. We had interacted by email, and by phone since Bro. Peter's testimony. When we met in Sept 09, we were not as strangers but as brother and sisters. It was wonderful. I am so thankful I didn't think Bro. Peter Wells was not for real! Would have missed SO much! Falla39 |

Re: Whatever happened to Josh?
I do believe that Josh was a real person, his post was too real, I have been there and done that! It has nothing to do with how many posts you make, he may have made one and backslid. I would have made only one myself except for FALLA39, and she has been such a wonderful help to my wife and I. There are times she has helped us through some doubts and worries, and those who care should keep trying to reach Josh. It may not reach him, but may reach someone else quite by accident. Negative comments and doubts don't help anyone, but positive ones help many. One accord has come to reflect on this situation, God Bless oneaccord to opening his/her eyes. Pray for Josh, and all the Joshes, someone in need wrote that thread, and it was real, and he needs our prayers.
