What are your Thanksgiving plans?

We are headed to Mexico to minister at several churches.
It will not be the traditional American Thanksgiving. Although its my favorite celebration. We are going to have our Turkey when we return. I am grateful for all the blessings we have living here in the U.S.
For all those of you who hunt over Thanksgiving Bambi's daddy lives in St.Francisville....lol.....so does Tom Turkey.

Going to my mom & dad's house. Lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, inlaws, outlaws and probably a few perfect strangers.

We attended in 2007. I was very impressed. :D I ended up filling up a couple of memory cards with photos mostly of decor. I wasn't sure if we were going back this year or not, but this wasn't that expensive of a trip since we've worked concessions at Ole Miss to have our motel room paid for and all we have to pay for is meals. Transportation is covered because our church has it's own charter bus. Anyone who has worked to help with concessions fundraisers can have a free seat on the bus. Besides, one of my favorite preachers (Bro Kenny Carpenter) will be speaking Friday night-- and I didn't want to miss that.

Wow some of you have such large families.
BTW I loved the Norman Rockwell.
Our youngest is eight and he loves to cook with me. Last year he woke up early to help me with the Turkey. He was so proud to say that he was my helper.lol.

Re: What are your Thanksgiving plans?

I have 4 siblings. Each of us take one holiday every year and host the celebration for that particular holiday. Thanksgiving is always mine. So I will have my 4 siblings and their spouses, my mom, my 9 nieces and nephews, Walt's brother, Walt, Justin, Keith and myself at our house. We do this potluck with me supplying the turkey, potatoes, pies (pumpkin, pecan and whatever else I decide to try) and homemade oatmeal dinner rolls. Everyone else fills in with other stuff.

After we eat, we all jump in the cars and go BOWLING! Our kids look forward to that all year! We have a blast!

Then they all come back here and eat again and package up left-overs before they go home.

Re: What are your Thanksgiving plans?

The usual Thanksgiving dinner at my parents, not sure if both of my siblings & their families will be there (they usually switch off with their in-laws.)

My daughter and I for sure, my uncle and grandparents, and my mom always invites a few people when she finds out they don't have anywhere to go. It usually winds up a crowd, but is always delicious and lots of fun! :heart
