Seems like he's still grinding the same old axe like on another forum.
Sad.
Some need to just get a life and get on with it.

Well, I found this intersting...I just visited the website of the Collingsworth family. They are Bible Methodists and in appearance look just like those who adhere...more so in some respects.

Anyway, on their Guestbook someone (Methodist) had recently posted this...

"...we appreciate you honoring the Lord by sticking to our conservative standards..."

Interesting...:tiphat

Should men wear shorts? NO.
Should women cut their hair? NO.
Should women wear makeup? NO. (The Bible does have a place for it, but it is only during a time of mourning. Otherwise it is for the harlots.)

Do I love those who reject holiness standards per se? YES.

Will I fellowship them as in eating and visiting with them? YES.
Will I fellowship them for preaching? NO.

Do I consider them to be saved or lost? That's God's decision. My job is to reach all who will not accept the Bible and live according to holiness.

It does say to be ye holy for I am holy. If someone rejects this and refuses to live holy, will they be lost COOPER?
What say you?

So you're regulating that to mere dress?

It's soooooo much more than that.

But neocons will never get it. They just see the word "holy" and automatically assume it's meaning or speaking of outward dress. (And we all know what assuming does, don't we CS.)

So you consider standards a Heaven or Hell issue- There is a seperate thread for that.

Maybe that inspired THIS thread...

I know that, that's why I included "CS." If it was meant for NI, I wouldn't have needed to put the initials there.

I thought the poll was for traditional 'holiness' standards keepers to answer.

At least four of the six who voted so far aren't in that group. It skews the poll results if everyone answered.....cause of course those who don't follow those standards will answer 'yes'.

Funny that that's all you saw in the post.
God said to be holy, not me.
It isn't all about dress as I have stated elsewhere, but dress is certainly an extension of it.
Incidentally, God said to BE holy. Sounds like an order to me.
But, then again the liberals are all against someone telling them to do something that they "feel" isn't right. It isn't about what someone feels, but about what the Bible says.
Is that clear enough?
NI

BTW: who is CS?

Glenda B 04-20-2007 07:38 PM

In order to be right in God’s eyes, I feel that we are required to assemble ourselves with a group of like minded believers, by not forsaking the assembling of ourselves in the house of the Lord. Sitting under the direction and leadership of a man called and anointed by God. We need to be fed by the word and without doing this, you will die a spiritual death. If you are not doing this, you are completely out of the will of God and you will be lost.

That's all I saw in your post? That's all that was in your post! The first post above is entirely dress-related.

"Be ye holy as I am holy." Have you read the verse and applied it in context? Or do you often take scriptures and misapply them by removing them from their context?

Here's the context in which that scripture fits:

13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Where is there anything written about dress?

I bet you'll point to verse 14: " . . .not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:"

However, that scripture isn't speaking of dress at all. It's speaking about conforming to the former life you once lived before coming to God.

Again, there is nothing in that scripture about outward dress.

In fact . . . it's interesting to see (in context) the verse preceeding.

"But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."

Conversation...not outward dress is the subject of this scripture.

I believe in Holiness.....just not what somw would label "Holiness".
Having said that...since you will find very few that all agree on outward "holiness"...the true test of an Apostolic brother in Acts 2:38.

IF you are a One God , might God in Christ, Jesus Name baptized, Holy Ghost filled Child of God YOU ARE MY BRETHREN! PERIOD!

Cut, Hair, Pants wearing, makeup wearing and all!

OK...Im gonna go now before Epely sees this...:aaa

Conversation, in this instance, can refer to much more than verbal speaking.

I believe conversation here means how you live, your behavior.

As in "Actions speak louder then words"

Absolutely. And that encompasses much more than vocalization. In fact, we all know vocalization is the least of ways to truly express Christianity.
