Greatest Thread Ever?

What, in your mind, is the greatest thread in the history of AFF?

Doesn't have to be measured by number of posts, more by quality or sheer likeability (is that a word?).

From the Fellowship Hall...If the numbers are right...

By number of replies:

We Put Our Christmas Tree Up!

By number of views:

Favorite Movie of All Time

Gabby's was actually first, but I didn't count it...mostly cuz it was just a 'chat' thread. :blah

One of my favorites was on the old FCF - Three Things. It was good to read post uplifting the posters.

There was another one I really enjoyed but I will have to search for the title of it.

The greatest thread would have to be the the thread the had the most impact in setting the tone at AFF in its nascent stages. It was authored about 2 weeks after this site 's launch by CS - The PCI Counterfeits thread

http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com...read.php?t=554

was one of the longest Fellowship Hall threads for quite some time, has many of the old NFCF/FCF posters pitted against some of the newbies and was/ can be construed as an attempt to "mark their territory" by the conservative posters.

The conversations between the PCI vs. PAJC factions raged after this thread and other holiness threads (including Pastor Poster's infamous and inflammatory "spiritual holocaust" remark) eventually unnerved many of them to the point that they could not stand to fellowship at AFF any longer. There are several other turning point threads that perhaps I can post later.

Some of them are no longer in the Fellowship Hall having been buried, locked or pruned for reasons "unknown".

I NEVER said all conservatives were this way. I said there is an element in our movement that is this way. And whlie I said last night that I didn't feel it was intentional - I have heard of many super dee duper fruitcakes who masquerade as conservatives that claim to love back-door revivals. What is that, if not spiritual abortion and murder?

Lets get real here! I believe the basic tenants of our doctrine in a huge way.
But I don't drink the Kool-Aid some would like me to. To equate my statements as an abandonment of core doctrine is a huge distortion of the truth.

As for the new breed of the PCI, I am not connected to it, don't understand it, and have never one time identified myself with it.

My question is this: Which is worse, ignoring basic doctrinal tenants, or continually adding new junk and equating it with the gospel?
Actually, this was one of the carry-over posts from a thread I started about Spiritual Abortion that made Phil Jones crazy.

Ed, I don't remember this post. Can you post the link to the thread it is on?

And there was a thread in which Pel challenged Steadfast when Steadfast accused a fellow minister in Texas of condoning fornication. Do you remember the title of that thread? That thread caused a change in ownership of this forum.

I remember the event, but I'm pretty sure that thread was removed before Steadfast left.

We had a thread on the Faithchild Forum with people telling funny stories that happened in church. It was hilarious! We should have made a book out of that thread!

You'll have to keep reading. I'm not posting anymore links but it looks to me like the entire thread is intact. I believe Steadfast left quickly during this thread without ever fully answering Pelathais.

Back on NFCF there was a thread on the craziest standards that anyone had ever run across complete with pastors sending their wives to go through the dressers of the ladies in the church to make sure they didn't have any inappropriate under clothing.

On the thread about gags, this is the perfect example of a gag waiting to happen! If I KNEW about such a church (where it is) the fun would be legendary. Alas, these churchs seem to only exist as a "church that a friend of mines aunt once went too".
