Best soul winning traveling evangelists

I am looking for evangelists who will come and spend a week in outreach like Tim Downs does. Are there any other evangelists who either visited your church or you would recommend. Im not looking for a speaker only type of evangelist.. since they are not what we have in mind. I want someone who flat out works for a week with us to build a Sunday Service.

Any recommendations?

2 Timothy 4:5 KJV But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

;)

You do it. :) Why hire someone?

For quarterly mass outreaches we are plugging into the calendar. And I agree, its up to us on a weekly basis also.

I would like to send you some materials I have developed. The book "Relationship Evangelism" describes the process of reaching a community through building relationships. It is the process we used in building an outreach minstry in Sacramento Cal.

We will teach you and your church how. We do crusades all the time.

Surely you can think of other options than this?

Not being rude, but I think you should pray and think in another direction, as in the direction of God giving you and your members a stronger burden for the lost, hands and feet that do God's will in attempting to reach folks, collectively and individually.

Then again, you did not ask me what I thought.

How is that church in Kentucky doing it?

Maybe you can tweak their ideas to what would work iin your locale.

There are folks in my church who participated last year? with a Brother in Ybor City-- they said they had an awesome time, unsure if they have applied any of what they learned or experienced to their local congregation since that weekend.

We are going to use the same methods, but I want to hold a quarterly big event with a soul winning outside speaker, essentially to bring in a outside word. Nothing more and I am not looking for a magic bullet :)

It only sounds ironic that you want a real worker and not a speaker only, when you folks are where you are and have the burden, as if to demean a speaker as being (ahem) lazy. It just sounds (ahem) lazy to take what is really only your task and desire another to come and do it. To speak of speakers who only speak and not "flat-out" work is to expect more of someone else concerning what yourselves should do more. It sounds offkey. lol. It's your area. I think if it is God's will for a man to come like you describe, God will send such a person without sending out request applications.

:thumbsup

I know one who has raised the dead, and routinely arranges miracles such as "debt cancellation". Interested?

Apoc and his group are still just starting out. Bringing in some help can be a great way to give everyone a good kick start. Dude's not even married yet. At least he's not asking for help there! http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com...ons/icon12.gif

Plus, it's fun to meet folks who've done what you're trying to do. Learn some new things, hear some success stories, make contacts and make new friends in the ministry.

I don't think he was demeaning the "speaker only" types, just throwing an idea out there and seeing if anyone had some good experiences to share.

It just sounded that way, though. If that was not the intent, I see no issue. :)

Last year we baptized over 150 souls up from 3 the previous year in the church I took over as outreach minister at.

And yes, we will be doing weekly outreach. I was simply asking for some good recommendations for traveling outreach evangelists to help us with quarterly community events, not a broadside as to whether I was too weaksauce to do local evangelism as a church planter. When you start from scratch it helps to have outside hands give you a boost. Like for a fact that the Downs family (all 4 of them that travel) are a force multiplier since they do what they do every week in and out.

Pretty much on the money :)

And I get married on July 10th. We will be starting preview services in October according to the current plan.

Could be, but doubtful. He's small potatoes, but thinks he's really hot stuff. (Which probably describes a good 50% of evangelists, anyway.) I wouldn't be surprised if my guy has the same availability, though!

Nah, who I really need is Mike Murdock or Munsey to come and raise my budget in one day just like he does on Daystar... pfft..

But seriously are the ranks of outreach focused evangelists that thin that I can't get any answers after 2 days of floating this topic? I know David Smith, Jen and Julie Cook are also good in that area. But doesn't this kind of say something about the current crop of traveling speakers that no one can name several right off the bat?

Re: Best soul winning traveling evangelists

The best evangelists I ever seen come through no longer evangelize. It was a couple from Kansas. When they were here they were out day after day witnessing and inviting people to church. They went to the malls and passed out fliers. They did not merely come, eat the pastors food, preach a message and then leave,

Sadly Pentecostals think a great evangelist is someone that goads you into excitement or someone that gets on top of the pulpit and leaps off.

I dread that stuff. The church is not better for it. An evangelist should leave us with something. Nowadays evangelists have 8 messages they regurgitate from church to church. They don't really need to pray for a message JUST for that church

We had a older couple a while back, some of the prayingest people we had ever seen.

We had 15 get the holy ghost in that revival.

They left us, went to a church 2 hrs away and had 50 get the HG.

Now they are in the Phoneix area and have had 65 in this current revival.

Would you be kind enough to find out their names and possibly contact info through the grapevine?
