Glitter Should Be Illegal!

I HATE glitter. Sunday school teachers give it to the kids and it gets EVERYWHERE! It's not just on the floor (and hard to vaccuum), it's on the pews.

Not only that, it's so pervasive I see parents with glitter stuck to their faces.

We need to make glitter illegal!

When you have to vaccuum a large sanctuary, you better believe it's a sin :christmasjig

I am sending you a ticket to Siberia next year for the month of December, no internet. No phone. no contact with people. You suck the holiday spirit out of everything!!

Glitter??? Come on!! How are angels supposed to sparkle in the pageant???
And so what if there is glitter left in the sanctuary carpet??? Deal with it and smile when you still see it in March!

With all the people like you in church, it's no wonder that kids and teenagers don't feel welcome!!

Drink some Cocoa, find some mistletoe, turn up the holiday tunes and get your Christmas groove on!!!

Unfortunately I have to deal with the people who are gonna complain about the glitter and why I couldn't vaccuum it up. Then the stuff that is on the pews....when that stuff is stickin to 3 feet of denim backside someone is gonna be mad at me :jolly

Eh...BTW what makes you think kids and teens don't feel welcome? Someone must feel welcome else they would not be there spreading glitter everywhere

It was banned from Sunday School crafts in the last church I served. I was an enthusiastic supporter of that rule, BTW.

LOL!!!! It IS hard to clean up, but there are worse messes. Jeffrey once poured out all my powdered sugar, and then sat down in the middle of it to eat it; Hannah has spilled cooked rice on the kitchen floor; one of BHILL's boys squirted chocolate syrup all over their light beige carpeted stairs--TWICE!!! :D

Glitter seems so easy after that....:jolly

I work with kids every day in a Christian school, and while a great many of them go to different churches, on Friday nights most of them go to one particular youth group- they feel welcomed by the church. I have asked them why they would miss their own youth service to go to another church, and the answer is the same- they feel more welcome at the one church.

I have been in churches where the youth pastor is the "Pastor in training", and the kids know it- I have also been in churches where the youth pastor (and pastor) feel called to serve the youth, there is a complete difference...

A good compromise is to only buy the large flecks (it's almost like confetti), instead of that fine grained stuff, or use glitter glue.

Prax is insane, and he's always wrong in his opinion of things - when he disagrees with me. But I have to say "Amen!" to this one.

You can actually get mesothelioma from glitter. In fact, you're more likely to get a squamous cell carcinoma from inhaled glitter than from inhaling marijuana (see that other thread on this subject).

That would work better. The smaller stuff get's caught in the fabric on the carpet and the pews

I love glitter. It is great for crafts and especially when you use white liquid glue and
write your name and then glitter it. I love it.
Prax.......it would be more fun if you did the crafts too!!!!

Prax does lots of crafts - but they only allow soft crayons and those rounded tipped safety scissors where he's... um, ... where he's "staying" now.

Get lots of rest Prax ol' buddy and have a happy holiday!
