Lady Preachers and Teachers
I am interested in fellowshipping more lady preachers and teachers.
I travel all over the U.S. and internationally as a Bible teacher and Evangelist. I love my life. I would not trade it for anything but maybe another pastorate or maybe teaching full time in a Bible School. Otherwise I love my life. Its not been altogether easy though. I started at 23 years old and not every one was so gungho about women in the pulpit. As the years have gone by I have gotten much more comfortable. I am not the type to push it on anyone. I have always prayed and Jesus has opened the door. What about you? What is your story?:star |
Re: Lady Preachers and Teachers
I used to preach when my husband and I were in the UPC. We left the ministry and I haven't preached since. I think the world needs women preachers...it helps keep a balance so everything is not so male dominated. I don't know if I will ever preach again, personally. That chapter of my life is over maybe forever. I don't even really like to talk about it and am even uncomfortable writing this. I have no problem saying we left the ministry. I never felt real comfortable preaching and I always felt like I was walking against the current, so thinking about it makes me feel exhausted. I never felt very supported as a woman preacher in the UPC as a whole. I felt tolerated.

Keep on preaching and teaching. It is my understanding of the Scriptures that in Christ there is neither male nor female, bond nor free, Jew nor Gentile and a woman can do and be anything that a man can do or be. It is my understanding that the gifts and offices of Ephesians chapter 4, Romans chapter 12, and 1 Corinthians chapter 12 are equally available to both men and women. |

Regardless of Sams reasoning which btw the first thing that rang in my mind was this is the same scripture the gays use also, women are a mighty force in the army of the Lord.
I don't really care what anyone thinks but Jesus and my husband. Thankfully we preach and teach together. I love it. He is the man around our house. I don't have to be. I really love teaching ladies. I am teaching ladies at the conference we are about to arrive at. He is one awesome Bible teacher. We are one in the pulpit. He teaches and then calls me up when he feels to do so. I love it. It works for us. We have baptized many this year and many have received the Holy Ghost. Team ministry is a good thing. I think its sad when a man is a preacher and his wife hates the ministry. If he would help her develop in her gifts and callings(which many do. I am criticizing no one.) then what a powerful force for Jesus they could be. |

I have never lost the wonder that God would call me to His fields...I stood in a church dedication tonight and my son said this church in this area exists because of my mother...the people did not seem to mind that I was the first lady back into that area years ago...In fact the fruits gathered tonight were because of a trip back into that area 20 years ago...
I was the first Jesus Name missionary that came into their area... So while some condemn and make fun of women others are thankful that women came and told them of Jesus...to some it meant the difference in heaven or hell... |

etenity will reveal what women have meant to the kingdom of God...

I honor both men and women that are really called...some woman might be a lesbian on the other hand some man might be gay...so we cannot say like I have heard it said women that preach are lesbian...and I think anyone that would say that has problems.
No godly women would want to be a man and neither would a godly man want to be a woman. The kingdom of God needs as many voices as it can get...millions still live in pagan darkness and this is to the shame of those that try to close a voice from announcing the gospel...I weep over the millions that have never heard... The kingdom needs more Deborah's, Huldahs, that will rise above the peer pressure of the day and DO the work of God...There are enough powder puffs, enough primping...Dear ones, WE are at war...We need some Ester's that will put away the petty things and go stand before the King...ladies that are in the kingdom for such an hour as this... |

Uh, sis A, that comment is not just for the women preachers! Sad to say, we got a lot of powder puff preachers that are men! We need more Elijahs! :santathumb |

I agree with this statement...we need some people with a backbone in this age we live in. Soldiers must be prepared for war...an so it is with the spiritual. |
Re: Lady Preachers and Teachers
I have seen enough people "CALLED" to the mission field and not return...they do not even know the voice of the commander...much less know His callings...and then I see well known pastors that back people that do not even know the voice of God...because they are family friends...lol...they would do them a favor to sit them down and tell them the truth...not pamper them...got enough pampered already we need people that are strong and prepared.

Re: Lady Preachers and Teachers
I am very excited reading this thread today. Sister TAYLOR? I am so excited reading your post. That is an amazing testimony. The first woman Jesus ever showed me was Nona Freeman. I did not know women could even possibly preach or teach the gospel. I grew up Catholic and we never even approached the priesthood. They sent women off to be Nuns only. Thanks for sharing that.
Sister Alvear I so love and admire you. I always wanted to be a Missionary since I was small. I love the Mission field and every field of labor where we travel and evangelize I want to stay and live. My husband laughs because its just that way with me. I want to do the work of Jesus 7 days a week. in Jesus, sis.Dana |

Re: Lady Preachers and Teachers
We bicker and argue about whether a woman can teach or preach, and just yesterday a great servant of God who had preached for 70 years and who had won and encouraged countless numbers was promoted to her reward.
In my opinion, Sis. Nona Freeman in her lifetime fulfilled the offices of apostle prophet evangelist pastor teacher and, we have here on this forum other servants of God who just happen to be women. How can we hold to our theories about women in ministry when all around us we see God ignoring our theories and calling and using women in all facets and phases of ministry? |

I have no problems with women preachers and teachers.
I do have a problem with women Pastors-- nothing personal, but Biblically, I must be against the notion of women Pastors. |

Women can be called missionaries but not elders, bishops or pastors. I don't know if it is standard PAW teaching but the local PAW church in this city was pastored by by a PAW bishop (now deceased) and he taught that a single man could not pastor. A pastor had to be married so he could fulfill the requirement to be the pastor of one wife. |
Re: Lady Preachers and Teachers
Women ministers (operation of gifts, exhortation, etc)- yes. Women as elders, Bishops or otherwise leaders over the church - no.

Re: Lady Preachers and Teachers

Women cna not be Pastors, single men, can not be Pastors-- the standards for the offices of a church are clearly established. Why would there be any questioning of the Bible on something so blatantly clear? Women Pastors are in disobedience to the Bible. |
