What Is Your Opinion of AFF Posters?
 

I'm not necessarily asking what you think of me as a poster; what opinion have you drawn about me since I started posting on AFF. I might not want to know!!! :nah

I am admitting that as a newbie on AFF, I have quickly drawn opinions of some of those on this forum, and then a few post later think, "boy, I must have been wrong about that person."

I guess what I'm asking is , "Are we too quick to judge and draw opinions of others without knowing them?" :foottap

How do I get to honestly know each of you?

Is what you post really you?

Can we consider this even beyond AFF. Are we too quick to judge others in our daily lives? :heart

What I post is really me.

I have enjoyed the volleys of ideas that we have taken part in on AFF. I think your moniker serves you. You appear to be one who is open to learn as well as share what you know.

I think that many do judge too quickly. People often judge so quickly that they don't even get a full grasp on what people are saying before they leap off and attack them. But hopefully this is in the minority.

I don't know if that is what you were looking for... but there it is anyway. :)

Someone told me something about a certain "other AFF poster" that I found interesting. They said "He/she is not really like they seem to be on AFF". I try to be just like the real me on AFF, and when I am not being the real me on AFF, I try to be the real me in real life. In other words, I'm just as boring in real life as I am on AFF.

As far as my opinion of other AFF posters. My opinion is that all AFF posters are some of the finest people I have met or have interacted with on the internet. Except for those that aren't.

I pretty much am who I post to be, with some exceptions... it's easier to delete words than to eat them, after all. ;) I tend to think others are really who they portend to be, as well, but I do question a few posters' statements-some because I think they say some things opposite of who they are to get us to think, and some because I may misread their statements.

I try not to judge, but it happens.

One of the good things/bad things about boards like this is that we can't see the other person to judge by sight as we are used to doing. I wonder sometimes if I ran into a few people on the street, who would I consider more "Apostolic"... for instance, Timmy or NoW? Sadly I must admit that I'd probably miss my guess! (At least since Timmy shaved.)

I think I am who I am... I have met several people from online... I am often told I am more quiet in person...which is true.

Unless you are very close to me in person, you would never know how I am feeling or thinking unless I feel like I can trust. I find it easier to describe my feelings/thoughts in written word. For some odd reason, I just rambling on my feelings and thoughts online.... so actually, if someone reads my posts, they know more than people who see me often.

Weird I know, I think most people are opposite of that.

I'm exactly the same, except that this topic is only about 1% of who I am, and I have very strong views about it, so you are seeing a slice of 1% of my personality, 90% of the time when I am here.

The other 99% of me tries to never have any discussions about church or religion ever... I do it all here.... so the people who interact with me other than here never see the attitude that I display here because we aren't talking about religion...

However I thought of something today... me coming here and not liking religion is kinda like a guy who doesn't like sports going onto a football forum and talking bad about football (even though my dad plays. lol). All the more reason for me to just do hit and run postings... most people don't even remember me anyway it has been so long since I posted regularly with the id's I used to use.

My posts, which are very few, tend to reflect the way I'm feeling at the moment. I tried the boring, business power point presentation style on doctrinal topics for a while there, but found out TIC posts "hit closer to the mark", and are fun writing to boot. God only knows what people think of me on here, especially after one of those zany excursions!

But you bring up a good point, and an even greater truth. We really don't know people here in general, because we cannot contextualize the thoughts with the person. I agree with you though, there have been times I thought one thing about a poster, only to disagree with myself after reading their "second" posting.

I am who I am... personality wise and in most other ways, however, due to the fact that many DO know my identity in real life, I have to be very guarded. My views have (at least have tried to be) and could be used against me, therefore, I choose to not let all of my opinions public property.

This forum is a great place to just enjoy people, trash talk the Texans, and just catch up on all the local gossip happening in Pentecost!

For quite awhile I thought Timmy was in his early 20s at most, and when i read some people announcing grandparentage, I'm shocked-thought they were in their 30s or early 40s, and don't consider that grand parent age-though that might surprise me again! :)

I thought Aquila and DAII must be older, maybe 50s-not so much in what they post but by the length of their posts.

After seeing a few pics I decided I'd better not guess anymore!! :heeheehee
