Offspring

Whoa! I just read Cindy has nine!

Tell us how many you have. How many you wish you had. And why.

I clicked four, but that's blended offspring. I had two daughters and my husband had two sons when we married.

I have four little munchkins.

I'd love to have more. I'll probably adopt or foster when my children are older if I don't have more of my own with some unsuspecting future husband. :family Course, could be he'll bring some of his own along for the ride. :mal

One daughter, she is 34 now and has never caused me one ounce of worry.

She has always made us proud.

She just blessed us with our first grandchildren...two at a time.

My grandson Ashton is 5 and his little sister Eliza will be 2 in April.

Being a granda is awesome!!

One son, now 24. Except for his parents, he is close to perfect. We did raise a nephew, and are very proud of him as well.

Someone gave a testimony in church one Sunday, and mentioned having three wonderful children. I leaned over to my son and whispered "so do I". One of my four sons. :toofunny

MY THREE SONS!
Sometimes I am in awe, especially when they are all in the room together (not often they live outta town) standing tall and I'm like "are these gorgeous young MEN..
MINE"???

I become soooo proud..after I pick my jaw back off the ground, lol! 3 adult sons, all handsome, smart, and loving/kind, they all know and love JESUS! One has recently made me a first time grandmom., the other one WAS going to, but they just "miscarried", (sad)
What amazing blessings that the LORD has given me STILL, of all people,!! I am living proof that there IS a GOD! :D

Three...but I would have liked a couple more. :) Looks like God didn't see it my way! (Unless He plans to surprise us later.)

Two girls, one boy. 14, 12, 7.

One - 30 year old son - after 8 years of marriage - wonderful childhood memories - even when he did cause heartache, we knew God would see us thru, and He did!! now I have a precious 11 year old granddaughter who received the Holy Ghost last summer - and my son has a sweet, sweet wife of almost 6 years.

None yet, beginning to look like I'll never have any of my own. If I don't meet that special someone soon, I will probably adopt within the next two years.

Re: Offspring

3... and no more please.

We begin the slow procession toward empty nest syndrome soon. To some... empty nest is not a sad event. LOL...

I've got great kids... but dads seem to realize that their greatest accomplishment would be working themselves out of a job.

When they get out on their own and do well... that is a good thing.

Moms... not so much. They didn't appear to get that memo.

Good luck. My older sister who never married, adopted a little boy from Russia when he was three. I think he is 7 now, quite adorable. She will be in her 60's when he graduates High School. :nah not for me. lol

This is the major reason my wife and I decided to not have any (among other reasons), was our age when we got married. We didn't want to start with a newborn in our late 30's..

Re: Offspring

I would prefer to adopt a school aged child. Not ever being married isn't for me either (any more than not having children late), but some things we don't have a choice in. For a long time, I was told to wait, that the right man would come along. I did, he didn't. I'd be in my 50s when a child graduated, but that is really not so uncommon anymore. Not having a child at all would be much sadder for me than adopting one later in life. Ideally I would have liked to marry in my early or mid 20s and had two kids by 30. Didn't happen. Oh, well. My sister is supportive of the idea, which helps, and my family's general life expectancy is around 90-100, so I'll still have quite a few "good years" after a child grows up, even now. And I'm more stable and mature now than I would have been then. I've also experienced many things in my 20s and 30s that most people have to wait to experience in their 50s, after the kids graduate. It pretty much all balances out, eventually.

:D

I can understand that, I wouldn't want to do that either. Mine were born in my early/mid twenties. I will be able to enjoy some life here soon. ;)

I was born in my parents late 30's, my brother in their early 40's. My father passed 10 years ago and my mother is in end stage alzheimers. I wish I had my parents longer. I will say that we were raised different than our three older sisters as they were more financially secure, probably more patient, but often our sisters took care of us which helped them out. Still, I wouldnt want to have kids that late.

wish you all the best in adopting. If you are planning on doing this oversees, I hope that you are saving for this as it is not cheap. I am glad you have family that is supportive, my sister had her family in support. Another sister of mine is the self appointed second mom to our children, as I've raised mine alone for 7 years now.

Also, the health risks sky rocket for women as they get older. In particular once they get into their 40's. Mrs Dugger is a prime example.

We are 36, and this new one is our last. Part of me wishes I'd had kids younger, but I was also (more of) an idiot when I was younger. Plus, my wife and I didn't marry till late twenties.
