President Obama & The Dalai Lama

The link below leads to a story where China "WARNS" the President of the USA not to meet with the Dalai Lama, citing relationship strains that could affect America economically.

What do you think of China's posture and language on this issue?

Should President Obama follow in the steps of other American Presidents and meet with the Dalai Lama?

I think it's pretty arrogant for one nation to tell the leader of another who they can or can't meet with

Arrogant indeed.

Do you get the impression that China thinks they're holding us by our national testes by mixing their warning with a referrence to economics?

At this point, I'd invite the Dalai Lama to the White House for dinner just because, if I was the President.

How do you think he will respond to China's "warning"?

I hope our President doesn't bow to China's veiled warning-threat.

Now is the time for him to be strong-willed.

China should be careful...yes they hold a lot of notes but if the US government goes bankrupt those notes will be worthless...

China needs the US like a crack head needs another fix

Case in point for how poor economic policy affects foreign policy. We are in a position of weakness because "the borrower is slave to the lender".

You have to admit that this situation, similar to our "dependency" on Middle East oil did not happen over night.

We're talking years and years of risky decisions and policies.
